The updated version of North UK2 is well advanced and includes your objects; Incinerator, York Minster and Bilsdale Mast. Airfield work is also well advanced with 3d objects and runways in place.

I do not know how this compares with your version. If it is more complete then an object merge may work.

Can you post your North UK object file on GitHub or the Airfield Project server?

I haven’t added any more to my version, or used it since yours superseded it.

I wanted to make more objects but don't want to duplicate the effort. I started trying to come up with a list of relevant items that could use a model.

Basically power stations, wind farms, bridges or other objects that denote turn points, and unique features of a certain size.

OK

What I will do is place the version of North-UK2 on my google drive for you to download and have a look.

If you want to add more objects, best upload them to Airfield Project server and I will add to scenery.

Will post here when test version is available.

Test version 0.91 here:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sjXds78tp2

7zip archive, so download all four files and extract the .001 with 7zip and the archive will create a North-UK2 scenery folder.

Have any of the tiles changed, or is it just the additional objects and textures?

I noticed there is a sea tile missing between Scarborough and Whitby btw.

Also would be great if another 3 or so tiles could be added to the bottom as we (almost) always fly south, and crossing the Humber / going to the Peak District open up further interesting task opportunities.

Not impossible. With Qgis it is possible to make a new Condor terrain that extends the original. I have done this and extended North-UK2 by 5 tiles South. It is now a 15 x 15 tile scenery.

That was the easy bit, to use the existing textures they all have to be renamed to fit the new grid. I have also done this. In addition all the existing tree and water files also have to be renamed and new tree and water data obtained for the new area.

All the existing airfield and object data can be reused ok. :D

Hopefully I can reuse the airfield and object data from South East UK for the extension. There is a tool to merge object data, so should be ok on that one.

But there is also a lot of other detail to do, so will not be an easy task. When I have a test version, with whatever detail I will place in Google drive.

Wow, quick work!

How far south does it go now? I’ll generate a new .cup file for it.

I flew to Alton Towers last year and just missed out on my 300k due to taking a bit too long, might try and recreate that in Condor sometime when I’m feeling brave :D

New version of North-UK2 extents will be:

Top Left hand corner = Lat 55.65295 Long -5.374261 (6170717,350638 UTM 30)

Bottom Right Corner = Lat 52.5407 Long -0.1062 (5825117,696238 UTM30)

Camphill will now appear in 3 sceneries (South East UK3, West-UK2 and North-UK2)

A .cup file would be appreciated, save me the work (PM me for email address).

As the scenery is still in development, any volunteered Gliding Site airfield 3d Models or even pics of clubhouse/hangers or other structures (pics as square on as possible) would also be very welcome.

Edit - Alton Towers is within the extended scenery.

A further test version (0.92) of North-UK2 is avaliable for download from my Google drive:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sjXds78tp2

Download is in 5 7zip archive files (.001 to .005, 4.7gb download).
Download all six files and then open the .001 with 7zip. The archive will open into a "North-UK2" folder which can be copied and pasted to your Condor Landscapes folder. 20.3gb unzipped.

This is the extended (by 5 tiles to the South) version, as requested. So it is a fairly big (15 x 15 tiles) scenery. Therefore there are many changes and lots of new areas and airfields. So there may be still some errors which I would appreciate being advised of.

Quite a large area of Wales is included in the scenery so lots of potential for long flights.

Anyone interested can download and try the test version. Any comments or suggested improvements are welcome.
