As I said in post viewtopic.php?p=153880#p153880 I am working on a New Zealand (south island) scenery. Though it won't be a photo scenery.Jan Oorthuijsen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 12:03 pmHi all,
I want to start building the popular Omarama V2 (new Zealand) scenery photo realistic, is there someone who already works on this scenery?

Sorry I sent you a personal message and did not read your reply.
I will start another object.
Hope that Andy will do the same and will not release his scenery Omarama.

I won't block anyone else from creating the scenery, but it's a lot of work and will take some time until it's finished. But it will be a high quality non-photo scenery (at a level above my Southern Norway scenery for Condor 2).Jan Oorthuijsen wrote: ↑Fri Nov 23, 2018 10:53 amSorry I sent you a personal message and did not read your reply.

I'm working on SWPoland2.
scenery cover almost this same terrain thas SouthWest Poland for C1.
based on openstreetmap data with own made textures and a lot of 3d objects.
Here some screens form part of Wrocław city (biggest city in scenery)

Remake of the V1 scenery South Nevada is in progress. My 3d modelling skills are still basic but improving.

Re: V2 Landscapes (sceneries) : work in progress / intentions
I started working on the area outlined below, which I call Logan2. It is just north of Nephi. At 15x15 it is a little smaller than original Logan for C1, but it will be 8192 px resolution photo-realistic. I'm currently compiling orthophotographic data for it and deciding on airports, so if anyone is working on any overlapping region, let me know so we don't waste each other's time. Cheers.
P.S. I make no promises and set no dates.

Re: V2 Landscapes (sceneries) : work in progress / intentions
116 years in the making... ok, maybe 9 months... and it's only 6x6 tiles... but it is extremely photorealistic... and I have spent lots of time with color correction and painting out all of the glitches in all of the lakes and rivers... and there are about 10 custom modeled airports.
Some of us don't live in mountainous areas... we don't have "ridges" or mountains to help us gain altitude.
This is what I guess you call "flatland" - though there are lots of beautiful lakes to look at.
Oh, and it just so happens to be the state where the Wright Brothers had their first flight (are we still saying that this is the world's first flight? I honestly don't know?)
Teaser until a little more testing is complete:

That NC First in Flight scenery looks great!
I happen to live in the mountains of NC (Asheville) would love to have a photorealistic scenery of my local area to fly in. The screenshots you showed in your earlier post (below) looked awesome as well! I was curious to see how that Appalachian Mountains scenery is progressing.
Also, how far south of Asheville are you planning to take it? I may be flying out of 0A7 Hendersonville and likely around the areas E & SE of there. I also know that there is the glider club down at KSPA that would likely be interested in a local scenery. However, that's probably much further south than you had planned.
I'm not very familiar with how these sceneries are created, other than reading some people's posts on here, so I don't have a feel for how long all of it takes to process. Seems like they take a ton of time to map all the textures different regions of trees/pasture/lakes/etc. In any case, I really appreciate the work that you put in to creating these!
Best,
-Mike

Re: V2 Landscapes (sceneries) : work in progress / intentions
I'm pleased to announce the development of a new scenery in the Eastern Japan area. This will be a photo-real scenery with artificial textures for mountainous areas combined with photo-real shading. You'll see what I'm talking about in the video below. I'm having to combine photo-real with artificial textures, since the aerial photos in Japan are rather poor.
Mt. Fuji pictured in the vid will probably change drastically. The area to the East of the lake pictured in the vid is still under heavy development.
My two young kids keep me extremely busy, so the progress is very slow, but eventually it will be released.

Re: V2 Landscapes (sceneries) : work in progress / intentions
Restarted my work on Western Latvia, Curland landscape.
Area around Liepāja, eastern cost of Baltic sea on the images.
Have some questions:
1. How to easily increase the density of conifer trees?
2. What is the best workflow for placing a lot of objects, houses, making airfields fast?
3. Is there a good resource about making airfields and placing objects?
Thanks!

I have no idea, but you could ask dgtfer who has planted billions of treesgrinvaldsjanis wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:50 am1. How to easily increase the density of conifer trees?

Take a look at xavier's other posts in the Landscape forum (which you were able to find, so scrolling down shouldn't be too difficult )
