No Landscape with V3

Post by DonHar » Thu Feb 06, 2025 12:39 pm

I have just purchased and loaded Condor Version 3 and on trying free flight I get an error Load Flight Plan Error Probably Landscape Not Installed.

I had assumed it came with one landscape as with previous versions.

Also can someone tell me how i transfer landscapes I used for version 2 to be used for version 3?

Thank you

The installer should install Slovenia3. If it did not, run the installer again. When you run the installer it should download several additional files. One is the landscape.

Thank you

The easiest way is to use CondorUpdater that may be downloader from Condor Club

I have downloaded the Updater software but have not clue how to use it to convert an existing downloaded landscape I used for V2.

Could you please point me to any instructions.

Thank you

Please ignore my last post as I have figured out how to convert.

However I have another question.

I see that via the Converter it is possible to install landscapes onto a drive other than C.
Is it possible to relocate existing landscapes from C to another drive?

Thank you

Please help yourself, just use common sense and observe.
What do you want to do? MOVE INSTALLED landscapes
Oh, the 2nd menu is named "INSTALLED" and it shows... installed landscapes. And oh, there is a button labelled "Move selected landscapes to new location...". I can't make the interface any simpler than this.

It may be obvious to you but how do I 'Grant Access' to the selected folder on the recipient drive?

Run as administrator may be required

You can also run an app as administrator. Right click and "run as administrator".

Well I have got as far as the chosen landscape folder name appearing on the designated drive but it is empty.

Would you mind explaining this?

Have you tried to copy a file into that folder manually (it can be any file, only to see that you have access to that folder)?

Where is that drive? Local, network, cloud, ...?

Maybe a screenshot says more than hundred words ...

I have twin drives in my laptop. I wish to move the landscapes from my main drive which holds the C drive onto the second drive.

Yes I can copy or move the selected landscape to the second drive. If I were to do this and remove it from the Condor3 folder, how could I then link it to the Condor3 simulator?

Actually, I have now decoded to replace my main drive with a much larger one, but until I get down to that I would still like to solve this current problem.

Thanks for trying to help me.

You don't need any tool to get that working. Move the landscape to the new drive and create a link in Condor3\Landscapes. It's a usual windows command in a "DOS box" (Windows Start, type cmd) (in the example Condor is installed on C: and the other drive is D:)

mklink /j C:\Condor3\Landscapes\YourLandscapeName D:\YourLandscapesPath\YourLandscapeName
