Hello Andy!
Thank you very much for your gigantic work! :) Awesome!

Just want to be sure - new UK is improved over your old UK regions landscapes serie and combines them - so assume for future contests/races this new 'United Kingdom' scenery will be used, am I right? Asking because capacity of HDD is relentlessly ending... ;)
No matter where you go... There you are...

This is what I plan to do for VSC. Once all current tasks / races are completed using the old scenery we'll stop using them. If and when any tasks are re-flown I'll transfer the task across to the new UK landscape. Makes the most sense, there's no point wasting HDD space.

2019 - Get up to speed and aim for a 300km task?! maybe.....

Thanks to Big Mike at the Denbigh Gliding Club (been there super site, great ridge and good wave) a slight problem with missing textures has been identified.

The area concerned is the North Wales coast where six dds texture tiles are missing. Fortunately just adding the missing tiles is all that is required to fix the problem. I have uploaded all 6 tiles to a Google Drive and can be downloaded and copied into the scenery 'Texture' folder. This will not affect the version number or online compatibility.

Six tiles 5mb each total download of 30mb.

Link to missing files:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

In my enthusiasm to reduce the texture folder size I did not include these tiles!

EDIT

Missing textures now available as a patch on Condor Club.

Firstly great work and thank you for a whole UK scenery.

I tried to use CondorWPFileGen.exe to combine cup and apt files to see turnpoints and airfields on an external pda (LK8000). CondorWPFileGen.exe worked with every scenery I have, but for some reason I can't get it to work with UK scenery. Is your apt file formatted in a different way than in all other sceneries? After combining cup and apt files I still don't see airfields on LK8000.

.apt file is created by the Landscape Editor when adding airfields so the format can only be what LE makes it.

What could an issue is the airfields names. Some have hyphens i.e. 'Weston-on-the-Green'. Some have spaces i.e. 'John Lennon'. Some have long names i.e. 'Cardiff International'. Any of these could fail with the program. Check with Bre901 to see if there any filename restrictions.

The recent patch issued on Condor Club added 6 missing textures to the scenery. However since then myself and the UK VSC have been working to find if there are any other missing dds textures and there are. My enthusiam to reduce texture folder size and remove all dds tiles that are sea resulted in this. I got it wrong on a few places (it is a big scenery). The work we have been doing has also indentified some coastline mismatches with the blue sea paint which shows up at the tile edges. I have also found some dds tiles that lack the water alpha effect.

So we are up to 42 dds tiles that are either missing or need to be replaced and there are still areas that have been identified but not yet reworked. The problem areas are all coastline and there is a lot of it in the UK.

So the final corrective patch will be bigger than 42 tiles. We are taking our time on this one so maybe a while before a patch is ready.

As the fix will only be textures no change to the version number will be required and the scenery hopefully will be better for it. So please bear with us while we work on it, if you see a missing tile area then please identify here, it maybe one we have not spotted.

I hope this does not detract too much from your enjoyment of the scenery. :D

The old version of CondorWPFileGen.exe does not recognise the new runway direction format in the .apt file which has been used in Condor and Landscape Editor since last year
You have to use the new version of CondorWPFileGen. A download link has been posted in a thread somewhere on this forum, it can be found quite easily, but, tonight, I'm too lazy to do the search :P

You could use https://www.condor.club/viewscenery/0/?id=448 to find missing dds

A new patch to replace/add/enhance the textures is now available on Condor Club:

But Condor Updater is best :D

Ideally The London Gliding Club at Dunstable need a bespoke small scenery for circuit and local airspace training only. My solution for this is to create a cut down small version of UK (3x3 tiles). This I can do relatively quickly and add all the local landmarks and runways that they need.
