Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
Note for impatient pilots :
The Condor and hangar updates are always made in the morning, hence the Tchin-tchin tasks in the afternoon of a release will always be flown with the previous version

Vols FR01 : 17h30 - TchinTchin 1 (C3)
There will be from now 2 official Tchin-Tchin servers running Condor3 tasks called FR01 and FR 02
Here are the fpl scheduled for our first flights on Condor3:
3/11: 4/11: 5/11: 6/11: 7/11: 8/11: 9/11: These flights are subject to change based on feedback from previous flights.
During the running-in phase, all the options are activated...but with penalties.
They are designed to be easy and not too long.
Once again, only experience will tell us whether or not we need to correct our aim.
In the meantime, we ask you to be very indulgent with us poor, ignorant Condor3 tasksetters. We still have everything to discover.
Enjoy your flights!
PS: remember to install the new AA3 scenery.

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
The TchinTchin races represent 99% of my Condor flights! A huge thanks to all task creators and fellow pilots with whom I have been learning so much in these last months.
The new Condor 3 is amazing and being able to use and experiment in the simulator the LX9070 is super useful for me because I have a LX9000 in my glider.
I did already 2 races with the new setup, but I am still getting used to the changes. In my first race there was a speed limit to start the task, that I just got aware because I read messages in the flight about that. Where should I have read it?
Today there was airspace between 2 TPs and I tried to avoid it but lost a huge amount of time. Where can you see the penalties for flying in airspace? Is it possible while I am preparing the flight, or only in the LX 9000 while I am flying?
Thanks to OXO and all the team for this amazing simulator!!!

You can find speed limits and penalties in the NOTAM tab of the flight planner.JFonseca wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 11:56 pmI did already 2 races with the new setup, but I am still getting used to the changes. Also during the flight before the start, the LX can help you get to the start at the correct altitude and speed, see 11.2.1.2 Maximum Start Speed and/or Maximum Start Altitude in the LX9070 manual: https://gliding.lxnav.com/wp-content/up ... 0rev57.pdf

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
a proposal from my side.
If a task is planned to have no penaltys for entering airspaces. It would be nice just to disable them.
That way nobody (me) gets confused

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
If you look at the tasks numbering, that flight is 0001, not 001, so please consider it's a zero versiondgtfer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 7:51 pm[...]

Anyway, Tchin-tchin flights are meant to be fun flights, Tchin-tchin flights are not an "official" competition but friendly meetings, so please take them with a pinch of salt, especially during the running-in phase

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
Starting 12 November, FR07 Tchin-tchin [C2] flights will no longer be original flights, with the exception of Sunday flights which have been scheduled a long time ago.
We will continue to schedule re-flies of old tasks for some time.

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
Thank you to the task setters for the Tchin Tchin daily tasks.
One thing I would ask is that the Allow Plane Recovery box is unticked so pilots are not penalised if they are unfortunate enough to suffer a midair.

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
During the running-in phase, we have allowed many things that weren't in use for the daily C2 tasks
I think that today some pilots (including yours truly
) appreciated the height recovery as the task was a bit tough
We shall revert to more "standard" settings in the coming days

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
The activity variation setting seems to be what made the task so difficult. Change it to none and the thermals are back to normal, not sure how exactly it's supposed to work.

Re: Tchin-tchin and Condor updates
Hello all
The last task by Tchin thin and by the 13.30 server were absolut top tasks in my opinion. No stupid ridge race, thinking about thermaling or not and often a very diffucult final glide. This races offers a lot of fun to me.
Thank you!
