Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
Thanks!
Update:
Still can't join. Looks like I may just have missed the cut off time as it's now saying "waiting for race to start"
Can someone setup a 301 redirect so any http requests go to https?

Yes the window closed at 15:35 UTC. I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier . If you go via the main Condor site to the serverlist it leads you to the correct address.

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
That's done for Benjamin Steele. Together with Nicola Nicato they've won their tickets the Grand Final, Congratulations!
Alessandro missed his qualification by 2 seconds, but I hope it's only a postponed start.
Oh dear, the mountain is so beautiful! What a pity to have to stay confined... Luckily Condor is here, good flights to all!

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
Another nice flight, with good conditions, from plain to mountains ...
This no PDA flight counted double in the General Ranking. This did not prevent Ben Fest, one of the most active Condorians, great builder of our favorite gliders but also excellent pilot, to qualify directly, accompanied by Kuba Jedruszkiewicz. Welcome to the Grand Final!

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
A very fun noPDA task yesterday, thank you!
What handicap is applied in condor-club scoring results? The briefing email says ASW19 handicap is 100 and Cirrus is 99.
In the final scores, DB1 is ahead VST with speeds 113.17 vs. 113.12 km/h, but the latter divided by 0.99 would be 114.26 km/h and be ahead in the results, as it was on the condor server scoring result.
This probably won't get me qualified anyway, but I'm just curious!

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
It seems to be an anomaly in CC ranking calculation. I contact BOD1 for that.
Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
Club class scoring uses IGC index (not DAeC). ASW19 & Cirrus have the same handicap (100).
Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
That is not entirely true Thierry:
https://www.fai.org/sites/default/files/sc3ah_2019a.pdf
For the condor planes:
ASW19: 1.000 at reference weight of 362 kg. Condor weight is 324,5 kg so index becomes: 0.994
Libelle: 0.990 at reference weight of 328 kg. Condor weight is 285,1 kg so index becomes: 0.984
LS4a: 1.024 at reference weight of 356 kg. Condor weight is 320 kg so index becomes 1.018
Std Cirrus: 1.000 at reference weight of 345 kg. Condor weight is 290 kg so index becomes 0.994
So in the above case it makes no difference, nor would it make a difference to the ranking in general as all planes are more than 20 kg lighter than the IGC reference mass so they all get the maximum reduction of 0.006.

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
Yep, I know that, and it doesn't change anything as you noticed it
I will update handicap when Condor handle this.

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
This Sunday, we had to fly over Switzerland's highest mountains, and the Nicholas clearly dominated. NP, already qualified, is a few seconds ahead of Nicolas Caudrelier followed by Jarmo Karjalainen they are now both qualified. See you soon at the Grand Final!
Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
Anouar wins again easily, with a masterful wave climbing that allows him to dominate the race. He will be difficult to beat in the Final Race. Lorenzo Cucchi and Mark Regelink will have the chance to try, they are both qualified, Congratulations!
Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
It was once again a magnificent flight, a pure Pleasure, thank you so much to our taksetters!
Behind PKM and JKK, a newbie, Bastien Nogaro, and a great ancient Claude Simonneaud are qualified, Congratulations!

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
Just a reminder:
In the general ranking, according to the rules, only the Condor Club classification is valid. This ranking uses the IGC handicap, which can be slightly different from the Daec, used by the instantaneous Condor ranking.
For example, "Cirrus" is 100 in IGC, and 99 in Daec.
This explains the small differences in the ranking of the Club class races.

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
Already the tenth qualification race!... A rather easy mountain flight with a good steady wind, you had to choose carefully your path. Thies Bruins wins in front of Jan Merettig and Robin Foerster who qualify. The 3 of them are less than 30 seconds apart. Well done, well done!
In the general ranking, nothing is decided yet, more than 30 pilots can still reach the grand final. Good luck to all!

Re: Condor GP2020 - Rules
This great crossing of the Pyrenees, a leisurely stroll in a strong wind and waves but an air of astonishing calm, allows Alain Bdt and Zbyszek Tkocz to reach the Grand Final, well done!
Only 3 qualifying races to come,
you can still try your luck, and maybe become the 2020 Condor GP Champion!!!
