Condor GP 2018

Condor GP 2018 - Presentation
CondorGP2018.jpg
We had in mind to make CGP2018 the first great Condor2 competition.
But the start date (March 21st) is close and all the pilots are not ready yet with C2 or have some difficulties. The number of available sceneries is still limited and Condor2 is likely to contain some problems that could jeopardize the success of this event.
On the other hand the qualifying races formula (the first two of each races are qualified) leaves us more flexibility, so it was decided to instore a mixed system, some events taking place under Condor (1), others under Condor2, according to the following distribution:

Wednesday, March 21: Training: Condor2

Sunday March 25th: Qualification 1: Condor2
Wednesday, March 28: Qualification 2: Condor (1)
Sunday, April 1st: Qualification 3: Condor (1)
Wednesday, April 4: Qualification 4: Condor2
Sunday, April 8: Qualification 5: Condor2
Wednesday, April 11: Qualification 6: Condor (1)
Sunday, April 15: Qualification 7: Condor (1)
Wednesday 18 April: Qualification 8: Condor2
Sunday, April 22: Qualification 9: Condor2
Wednesday, April 25: Qualification 10: Condor (1)
Sunday, April 29: Qualification 11: Condor (1)
Wednesday, May 2: Qualification 12: Condor2
Sunday May 6th: Qualification 13: Condor2
Wednesday, May 9: Qualification 14: Condor (1)

Sunday, May 13th: Grand Final: Condor2

The hard stuff is here!
Congratulations to Juliet Oscar and Jarmo Karjalainen, they are the two first Condor2 Pilots to reach the highly select club of CGP18 Grand final!

After a very easy flight (!!!???) Philoo and Anouar will no longer prevent our future qualification, Congratulations!

Same qualified than last year for the third race; Congratulations to Norbert Kiss!

For the fourth qualification race, thermals on the highlands ... A type of circuit that requires less boldness than usual Condor tasks. The most experienced pilots have been trapped. Welcome to Pj S and Alex Holswilder, the 2 qualified! Some new blood among the "Elite".

A very difficult task if you wanted to use thermal, a very simple one if flown on the ridges. For this fifth race, strait line was the direct way to outlanding.
Congratulations to Stefan Beach and Kuba Jedruszkiewics!

In spite of CondorClub problems a few pilots manage to compete in this sixth race, and Tim Madsen and Mihaly Knausz will be among the Grand Final Competitors. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Jean Piedalu and Ovidiu Feder, they are qualified!
We've now flown half of the qualification races, and in the general ranking the first non qualified are Bernard BRUN and Aleksey Chernov, followed by Bernie Pilot and Michel Bigand. But nobody has already 7 valid results, so it's a bit early to guess who will be qualified...

Michel Bigan and Andy Corlier will be in the Grand Final, and maybe one of them the next Champion?!
You're welcome!

And now we've got the pleasure to welcome our friends Ben Fest and Bernard BBU, congratulations!
Again a selective race, based on ridge flying but with some rare but highly appreciated thermals...
The new Condor2 meteo engine is really more subtle, making flights more realistic, a great improvement!
And of course thank you again to our task setter, he is a Grand Master!

A hard task again, around the Monte Rosa on AA, with a long and tricky branch against the wind.
Aleksey Chernov was the best in this game, but finishing was a performance in itself, and Claude Simonneaud fought for almost 3hours and 40' to qualify for the Grand Final! All our Congratulations!

Gaetan won brilliantly the 11th race, followed by Bernie pilot. They are both qualified, Well Done!
Certainly one of the last races on the old AA scenery...

On the most beautiful scenery for Condor2, we had another nice mountain task, with a subtle balance in difficulties, and Frank Dittrich and Horst Jahnke are now welcome in the qualification board!

Whaou!!!
What a scenery!!!
One had to force oneself to look strait ahead for the race!
We must thank again Capricorne for that great pleasure.

The Polish team was faster for the second race on Big Pyrénées, and Marek Baran is now qualified, with our old "tchintchin" friend Ikarus, Congratulations!

One last qualification race, and everything is also possible with the general ranking, as 4 pilots will be qualified there...

And it will be the Grand Final Race, next Sunday, (20:15 CET!)

Sorry! I didn't leave.
I made alt/tab to look at map. But for working V-sync I set true fullscreen in C1 - and it is impossible to back to Condor after alt/tab - I forget that. :(
GL on route!
No matter where you go... There you are...

This is the End my friends!
The very last Condor1 competition race is over.
Decades of thrill, a lot of pleasure, and now memories....

But Condor is still alive, and future is there:
All is done for the qualification races, and with Bernard Brun cancellation and reintegration of Eric MIME (the error of subscription has been corrected) the qualification board is now complete.
Welcome to Eric Mime, Adam Gorski, Andrew Teclaw, Chris Rakob, Gen Iv, Charly, and Vertigo!

Who will be the new CGP Champion? On a single race everything is possible!
