OpenClass handicap (once again :) )

Post by Crakob » Mon Mar 28, 2022 1:57 pm

Hi there,

I noticed, that the recent "open class tasks" have handicap applied in the CC scoring.

but the task-deskription states:
Plane class: Open
Handicapped scoring: No
Glider restriction: No restriction.

do i miss something there ?

That's scoring from unknown task (ie not hosted by CC), so class is not available globally (it's only available when the FTR is submitted, and at this time CC has already forgotten previous FTR). However, it tries to find out if a single class has been used (and doesn't apply handicap except for SCHOOL, CLUB, TWOSEATER/20METER_TWOSEATER) but here, planes from different classes have been used.

Just post the task on CC and it'll be fine.

Thanks a lot Thierry
and signature change also done.
Who should then post that task fpl, so that results are properly calculated?

Jarmo

Please please no one posts it !
If anyone posts the task after the FTRs have been posted, the scoring disappears :!: :!: :!: :!:

The Tchin-tchin tasksetters have no intention at all to post the tasks in advance.
For the open class, you will have to live with that until CC gets the class from the FTR instead of trying to make a (not so) educated guess about the class from the glider types in the different FTRs

Having said that, if you look at the scoring, you can see what your rank is without handicap by comparing speeds.

Tchin-tchin flights are just friendly competitions (esp the Sunday flights) , not the WGC, I think your ego can withstand that :wink:

The class is written in the FTR by Condor, I don't see why CC can't use it :?:
Last Sunday's flight FTR converted by Condor:

Code: Select all

LCONFPL[Plane]
LCONFPLClass=Open
LCONFPLName=JS3-18

I already answered to that. In addition, this feature was designed as a "last chance" to still get a rating even if the author didn't bother to post the FPL, not for regular circumvention.
