I am not sure. A Fritzbox. No parental control. I found that i also could not download the scenery manually. I could download other stuff though.
Then you mentioned antivirus sw. So I thought maybe some special port closed? So I restarted the DSL router. Maybe some upper download limit? It had happened the day before and stopped after big portion of New Zealand was downloaded. That day same thing. Stop after ca 8 GB.
Maybe there is a log in the Fritzbox. Check it out later.

Does it fail after a fresh reboot?
How much available memory do you have when you try to install CU? (on DOS prompt, type "wmic OS get FreePhysicalMemory")

I've reduced settings in Installer, it shoud use less memory now. Could you please retry?

Curiously, CondorUpdater.exe has been disappearing from time to time from the installation folder in the last weeks (and it is not in the Avast quarantine zone)

That's fixed too. A bug in CondorUpdater let a a process in suspended state, locking the file. The installer renamed it to .bak but was unable to write the new file.

Condor Updater fails to start since some time on my computer (it has worked before). The GUI doesn't appear at all, and I have this entry in Windows Events report:

I'm getting an error when loading Condor Updater related to the goodies function it seems. I had uninstalled and reinstalled the updater to see if that fixed it, including clearing the contents of the AppData\Roaming\Condor Updater folder, but there was no change.
When first loading Condor Updater I get a "Doublons non autorisés." warning followed by a "Violation d'accès à l'adresse 007EFC27 dans le module 'CondorUpdater.exe'. Lecture de l'adresse 00000004" warning.
If I open the goodies page it'll pop up similar warnings, and record them in the log as well:

Hello,
I downloaded Condor Updater and the "Get Key" Funktion doesn't work when I click on it.
Is there any way around this?

That just launches default browser, by asking windows to open an URL. So either you don't have a browser
(or no application is linked to "https://" scheme) or something (antivirus, ...) is preventing it. Try to disable your antivirus and retry?

Hi,
is there any possibility to have the updater just download the files, but not install them ?
(due to lack of diskspace i store the zip-files separate and unpack them when necessary (concerning the seldom used landscapes)
This is otherwise an item for a wishlist
