Access blocked from AWS instances in us-east-2?

Greetings,

I host the US Nightly Soaring, Monday Night Soaring, and Late Night Soaring competitions. We have experienced a lot of growth recently, so I want to move my server to something better than my PC.

Several years ago I had my server running on AWS. I tried to set that up again today, but I can't reach condor-club.eu from my Windows EC2 instance on AWS. I have no problems connecting to condorsoaring.com or any other site. condor-club.eu alone appears to be blocking connections.

Were you getting DoS'ed from AWS hosts, and just blocked all traffic from AWS? I used to work at AWS, in the EC2 networking group, so I'm rather familiar with how it can go wrong, but I think I have my IGW/VPC/SecurityGroups configured correctly. As I mentioned, I can connect to everything else I need.

AWS is indeed a big provider for all kind of attacks/sniffing/scrapping/annoying things. So it's blacklisted.
If you have a fixed IP, I can whitelist it.

I figured that's what it was :-).

Is Azure similarly blacklisted? I can do either AWS or Azure, but Azure is actually a bit easier for Windows instances. I only used AWS in my test because I already had my scripting set up to launch AWS instances.

In either case, I can get a static IP. I'll let you know what IP to whitelist once I decide on my cloud provider. Thanks!

I just spun up an instance in an Azure US Central region, and was able to connect to condor-club.eu without issues. I will probably set up my automated hosting there.

Cheers!
