In Real life an Index is used only for the Club Class. And in Condor (as far as I know) only in All, Club and School. The other classes are not using an Index for calculate the points.
On Thursday I flew the CWC wich used the 18m Class for this Race. The results in Condor itself were like i expect and the Index was not used.
But when I look at the race results in Condor Club, the Index was used.
Is this a mistake?
For future races in CWC this would mean, that you have to chose your plane by the the Index, no matter which class is choosen.
Specially in the 18m Class the Index between the planes makes a difference. Condor uses the DAEC DMST Index List wich is (in real life) made for long cross country triangle flying. For example the JS1 has 121 and the ASG29 has 119.
You may be surprised about the difference. The DAEC had also 119 for the JS1, but all planes where the tested polar was not publicated by the manufacturer to the DAEC got +2 points.
In Condor the ASG29 has even the better polar and 2 Index points less.

Re: Index used for the classes
In the Competition rules it says:
- Handicap : Yes
(Source: http://www.condor-club.eu/comp/show/0/?id=368)
So index used in all classes I guess

Re: Index used for the classes
I think this competition applies handicap in all classes Marc, even Open. In Condor handicaps are only applied in School, All, Club and Twoseater class. On Condor-Club the competition organizer can choose to apply handicap or not in any class. Looks like in this competition they choose to use handicap in every class (so also in standard, 15 and 18 meter, and Open).Bre901 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 9:24 pmExcept Open (that changed at the end of last year)wickid wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 8:48 pmIn the Competition rules it says:

But I bet one of the organizers will confirm this for us. I can only go by the competition rules I linked above.

Re: Index used for the classes
I was talking about races which are posted to CC outside competitions and without the fpl being uploaded to CC,like, for instance, the Tchin-trchin races.
You can clearly see that, in that race, no handicap has been applied : https://www.condor-club.eu/ftrrank/0/?f ... 575178177c

Re: Index used for the classes
I get that. But what OP was asking is why handicap was applied on CC in an 18 meter class competition. And the answer is: because the organizers of the competition have made a choice to do so. And I think they will also apply handicap in Open class in this competition as it is written in the rules (kinda defeating the purpose of choosing Open class in the first place).Bre901 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 10:35 pmI was talking about races which are posted to CC outside competitions and without the fpl being uploaded to CC,like, for instance, the Tchin-trchin races.

Re: Index used for the classes
The 2020 DAeC index seems to no longer have the +2 point penalty for the above mentioned gliders.
