I have downloaded and installed manually and I have used the Condor_Updater and I have to say the Updater WINS :D :D :D big TIME! It works well and although I don't think I have to keep the downloaded packages I would love for someone to verify that it's ok to delete the downloaded packages once they are successfully installed. :?

Thanks,

Think I’ve done something wrong installing. How should the files appear on drive? Not good with computers!

The first image is where I installed the Condor Updater utility, within the Condor2 folder (likely not recommended to be placed there, a better option would be outside the Condor2 install folder ... but it works for me as is.) :

Next is the "Landscapes" folder within Condor2 showing the various maps I've installed via the Condor Updater:

Finally, my download location for the various maps (these could be deleted once installed, but hey... that's what 8TB storage drives are for.)

... Or perhaps this is more what you were looking for, the actual paths as listed in the Updater's settings page (you can set them to whatever "drive:\folder\" you like) :

Run it as administrator. The programfiles folder is write protected. That is why it is recommended to install condor in C:\Condor2.

Rightclick the shortcut and select "run as administrator"

You will have to run CU as administrator each time. Launching it through email link or notifications will NOT work correctly because it's not started as administrator. Please consider to reinstall Condor in suggested directory to avoid further inconvenience.

Hi, I'm unable to launch Condor Updater for some time (it has worked before), the error in Windows Application Events is:

I've also tried running CondorUpdater as Administrator, no change.

Any idea?

What has changed on your PC since the last time it worked?
Maybe a bad antivirus/firewall is misfunctioning?
Try to restart your computer, disable antivirus/firewall and launch Condor Updater. Does it display something?
If not, open File explorer and go to directory: C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Condor Updater (some directories may be hidden, if so ask Google how to show hidden directories). You'll find CondorUpdater.log (and .log.1, .log.2, ...) there. Look at files created today, open them (with notepad) and copy content here, in this forum, so I'll have details on the problem you get.

Thanks for the reply, no log file is created, so it crashes even before it's able to open the file.
The last log file written (17-8-2021) contains normal stuff:

I've downgraded to version v2.0.7742 (Build 53977) and that version still works.

Hi all. When I try to download a 'Goody', the message 'there is not enough room on your device' comes up. I have more than enough room on the hard drive. Anyone else experience this?
