How to start in medals?

How to start in medals?
Hello
Yesterday I tried the silver medal in club condor. I managed to end after 14 tries, but when validating it told me that I made 0 meters and 350m altitude climb.
When the race starts (clock to cero) I try to turn over the first mark (mark with J) but no task is started. I tried the Nephi one for condor 2. What I am doing wrong.
Also what does it mean that I must loose 10m to start count of climbing? Is that the reason the tow plane falls some meters before releasing you?
Thanks.

Re: How to start in medals?
You have to take a screenshot of the starting point off the left wing while in the starting zone after the race has started, similar to either of these screenshots:
Use the J key to turn the marker on if you like (and if it's allowed on the task,) and then use S to take the screenshot. If it works you'll get a message on the bottom left saying "Pilot name started task." You'll have to do the same at each waypoint on the task, they don't get automatically recorded when the PDA is disabled.
As for the gain of height, descending at least 100 meters sets the low altitude that a following climb will be measured by.

Hello! Today I flought again (again 20 tries) and I pass the 1h and the 50km, but not the altitude, when analizing the flight I even went more than those 1000m climbing. But it said 400 and I don't know why. Don't understand quite well when I have to descent those 100m. Just the moment after starting the task?

Best do the 100m dive directly after release from the tow plane. Then start circling you might be direkt in a thermal.

Wait until you're going for gold and you're circling in a thermal that takes you in and out of the start zone, casuing restarts. At that point, the task is useless - restarts aren't allowed. I've had that happen a couple of times.
Re: How to start in medals?
In the Nephi map, the tow plane takes you direct to a thermal, that I pick up.. and with luck I start from 6500 feet until 10500 feet...
Then I return to the field to make the screenshot to start the task. That is what I did and it toke well the time (even I didn't start the task the time flying alone was counted), and from that moment it toke the distance.
What I don't know if it takes the height gained from release of the tow plane or just once the task is started.

Re: How to start in medals?
I believe it measures from the bottom of the first 100+ meter descent to the highest subsequent altitude. I got a gain of height of 1280 meters when I did my flight for the silver badge (on the Nephi task) which was measured from the bottom of that first descent down to 2723 to the top of that third peak of 4003. I'm going to guess that it doesn't care about the task at all when counting gain of altitude as it says you don't need to complete the task to qualify.
Re: How to start in medals?
ahhhh!! so I don't have to repeat all the task 1hour to have the silver medal? I have (it shows that) the 1hour and the 50km So I guess only needed is the 1000m ascent. So I can quick in the middle of the flight I guess?
Re: How to start in medals?
I've been working on the gold altitude (the flights where I've made it, aren't the ones that count on the gold badge page). In the one below, less than 29 meters from making 3000 meter gain.
Anyway, when you look at the barograph of the flight in condor-club.eu, it shows where the 100 meter descent takes place:

Ok I did it!
Now is a shame there is no gold medal for condor2. Have to wait then.

Re: How to start in medals?
I have tried all of the silver medal tasks in Condor 2, and whilst I have completed the height gain and flight duration I can't seem to get the distance to register. I am obviously doing something wrong when taking the photo. I have a three screen set up, so when I take a screen shot it only takes the forward view, and ignores the two side views. Could somebody explain to me what I have to do to get my distance to register?

Re: How to start in medals?
I managed to sort this problem out myself. It seems that using a three screen set up does not work with the silver badge. You have to disable two screens in order for the screenshot function to work.

Re: How to start in medals?
At the current Condor version 2.0.4 you need to take the 'startpicture' with your number one monitor. This 'problem' is known by the developers and might be addressed in later versions.
So your wingtip and start-point (base of the pole in the previous pictures) must be in your number one monitor when taking the shot.
