Is it really worth having condor updater as a asset as it seems so sloe and other landscapes Connot be downloaded while it is do its thing. all advise Gearty appreciated. Regards Gary

The speed depends on the premium membership at Condor Club and your own connection. Without premium membership you have to be very patient

Condor club charges 12 euros a year for a full mebership. This is to cover hosting costs for the many gigabytes the landscapes take.
If you have a premium subsription the average landscape will download in about 10 to 30 minutes as premium members have no download limit and get priority on the downloadslots. If you are not a premium member it can take several hours or days to download as you have to wait for a free non premium slot after every file. The advantage of using Condor Updater is that it will automatically correctly install your landscapes. In the past there were many support requests about manually installing landscapes. The updater takes care of everything for you.
There are some other sites that host some of the most used landscapes. 6226 above has his own landscapes on his website (see his signature) and I think there are some other sites which I don't know off the top of my head. Most of these have to be manually installed. If you feel comfortable doing this then those might be an option for you.
