Server 'address not understood'
Hello all,
I've just come back to Condor after a summer of real flying. Now, I haven't touched my PC for months.
I've done all of the latest updates using Condor Updater. I'm now on version 2.1.7 with hangar 21.
I tried to join a server last night, and the link opened into a new tab. The address in the address bar said 'cndr2:FCBMFAAMFRAMDLSRDFLH'.
The page gave the error:
"The address wasn’t understood
Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (cndr2) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
You might need to install other software to open this address."
I haven't seen this error before, and there seems to be no way around it.
I tried other servers, and got the same result. I tried from other browsers (Chrome, and Edge), and got the same result.
It's like it has forgotten that I have Condor 2 installed.
Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix?
Cheers,
Kelly

Re: Server 'address not understood'
Thanks 6266. I should have said that I'd looked there already. There's no entry in the preferences list for 'cndr2'.
What I can't seem to figure out is how to add it back in?

Re: Server 'address not understood'
Maybe... my initial search didn't turn anything useful up.
I was hoping a Condor expert here might be able to help I can't be the only one suffering from this problem?

Re: Server 'address not understood'
When I used first time a Join-In button from the serverlist, I was asked from Firefox about that, I only had to confirm it. Don't know anymore about that

Re: Server 'address not understood'
Thanks EDB. So the issue appears to be that I copied Condor from one hard drive to another, and in doing so the registry key didn't copy across.
The solution seems to be to install v2.1.4, which re-installs the key. Problem is, I no longer have a copy that old!
Does anyone have a copy of 2.1.4 that I can install, please? (Moderators??)
I really would like to be able to join servers again
Thanks,
Kelly

Re: Server 'address not understood'
Then just change the location in Firefox. It's a 30sec job...

And if you prefer the 30minutes job :
Downloading your CondorSetup .exe can be done from your account.

Re: Server 'address not understood'
Hi EDB,
It would be a 30-second job IF Firefox let you manually add a new file association.
The problem I have is that 'cndr2' does not exist in my list, therefore I can't change the association.
And sadly, the only version of Condor 2 available for me to download is 2.1.7... I've tried reinstalling that already and nothing has changed. I need 2.1.4 to correct the issue, according to forum posts elsewhere.

Re: Server 'address not understood'
2.1.4 is not available anymore. Installing 2.1.7 also restores the registry values, just like the 2.1.4 installer would. That should not be an issue.
Did you try: uninstall, reboot, and reinstall in the correct folder where you want Condor?
Backup you downloaded landscapes before you do this, otherwise you'd have to re-download those.

Re: Server 'address not understood'
It just needs a reg tweak for the shell command. It'll currently be linked to whichever drive Condor was installed onto. Just need to edit the entry, problem solved.

Registry edits are not for everyone, ask for help if you need it.
