Hi Guys, is there a way to set the hemisphere which one is flying in?
December is high Summer in South Africa and it would be handy to be able to tell the task
that it is Summer not Winter down here. A radio button or check box could be added to the task screen.
I'm not sure if it really would make a difference as we set the weather conditions?
Perhaps just Sun angle and the sunrise and sunset times?
Cheers

Re: Winter not Winter now.
Yes it affects the weather! Indeed as you say: sunangle and sunrise/sunset times affect the strenght and distribution of thermals. Next to the map screen in the flightplanner there is a box were you can set the date. It defaults to somewere around june/july when creating a new task.

... for the Northern hemisphere only (21/06/2021 since New year)
I just checked, the date defaults to 21/12/2021 for landscapes where the people live upside down

Yeah it defaults to the longest daylight period (and highest sun position) for the landscape

Re: Winter not Winter now.
Thanks, that explains why my latest task jumped to the 21/12/2021.
Okay, so it does recognize the landscape position and sets for maximum sunlight.
This is good to know. Cheers Jeff

Re: Winter not Winter now.
If you don't want that you can change it. If you set it to (local) winter, the thermals will be weaker/distributed differently. Date is saved in the flightplan.

To do so, I would recommend using the popup calendar to set the date rather than typing it in ...
