CHAT BUG UNSOLVED

Post by corlier » Sun Mar 18, 2018 11:12 pm

Hi Dev team.

I tried a lot of things to avoid chat bugs (drivers update, default input settings, etc.) ... but I still have a problem :
after 4 minutes, and if I try to send a message in multiplayer mode, 123.5 opens then it's as if the keyboard isn't working anymore (except 'ESC' key !!!?). So it's then unflyable : no more input commands for gear, autopilot, etc. :x

I've talked about this bug since the first days after V2 release but I saw nothing to fix this HUGE problem :( .

I think that I'm not the only one to report that issue and I hope you can help to fix it.

The first V2 patch didn't solved it.

PC : ASUS G11CD-K-FR045T
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3gb
Windows 10 64

Keyboard : Logitech K740 illuminated
Joystick : Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X
Rudder : Saitek Pro FlightRudder

You seem to have remapped the controls, and are using spacebar to enter chat.
Have you tried reverting to the default, ie backspace, to open chat?

Hi Ben. I tested with mouse only ... same issue :( :(
Chat freezes : no more keyboard entry ... except 'ESC' key (!?)

Any idea about what causes this please ?

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Jan. Here my default key to open the chat is 'BACK' !?? Strange because it's not 'SPACEBAR' as you say.

Andy,
Idea is know and was discussed.
You are creating the loop using remaping keyboards. in your case - Escape (I was using Enter like in previouse C1)
Please remap "Send message " to the oryginal Backspace and your problem will wanish (like mine :-) )
you have to get used to this :-)

Cheers

Hi Adam,

I remapped 'Send message' to Backspace key but nothing better ... still issue (same as before) :(
I also un-installed Logitech software (keyboard) ... without success
Even when resetting all to default and using mouse only.
Pfffff....

Could be worth checking if you see anything in condor2/logs/errorlog.txt
Is there anything particular about your setup ? Some background software thats stealing focus or capturing keystrokes or anything you can think off?

That is pity Andy,
I can see I was wrong, because I was sure you were creating the loop using Esc keyboard for sending a message, whilst you were using space key :-)
hmmm strange and I know your pain. Like I mentioned in the past - the only what helped me was changing the motherboard but I know your PC is quite new and there is no option. Problem is in my opinion with the chipset on the motherboard and there is nothing to would help (I've change all stuff (mouse, keyboard, joy, headphones etc) without any positive results The only, what occurred to me now, is to use oryginal motherboard drivers (instead of Winows) but minimal chance to solve your problem but like they say - sinking man grabs a razor :-)

Good luck
Adam

Hi Jan,

I found nothing on errorlog ... but then I've just rebooted my pc by making a 'clean startup' and I had then no chatbug with V2 :D

This is what I did :

" Step 2: Configure Selective Startup options
In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.
Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.
Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
When you are prompted, click Restart.
Step 3: Determine whether the problem is resolved
After the computer starts, try to start the affected game or program to determine whether the problem is resolved.
If the problem does not occur after you restart, the interference is occurring because of a background program or service.
"

The question is now : which background program or service is causing the bug ??

Hereunder the desactivated services :

Thanks for your help all :)

Maybe you have bug because backspace is for delete? :) Use enter instead!
And than use esc to escape from loop. Maybe this will help somehow?

Looks like you have real, old chat bug - not just problem with remapped keys - but try with enter and double esc.

Rgrds!

I've this problem w/o remapping the backspace to enter chat. It seems to occur randomly... could be the first time I hit backspace, or many successful chats later it will occur. Once it does, no key will work. Thus far, it has occurred 3 or 4 times. I'm getting to where I won't use chat.

In reading the above post - I tried using enter, and it immediately hangs.

True (C1 origin) chatbug means impossible to write in chat. It is not connected to remapping keyboard!
So maybe you mistake two different things. If you change chat to enter, as I wrote, use esc twice to escape from loop/hang.
It is usable but of course annoying.

I found some McAfee services remaining on my system after uninstall.
So I used a complete removal tool available at McAfee to clean all and the chatbug seems to be fixed now.
Hope 😊
Thanks all for your help 👍
