New user here with a Thrustmaster 16000FCS and I'm having a set up problem. When I assign Rudder and press the left rudder pedal, it reads "Y Rotation" and the rudder neutral position is far right, the left rudder pedal moves the rudder from far right to far left and the right rudder pedal does nothing. If I go back to Set Up, select Rudder, and press the right rudder, it reads " X Rotation" and the result is the opposite. Has anyone experienced this? Could it be a bad set of Thrustmaster pedals? Or am I missing something in the set up? Condor won't let me reassign the Left Rudder and Right Rudder keyboard controls to my pedals and it turns out that the glider is hard to control with just one functioning rudder pedal.

Update: A little more digging let me to a previous post with the same issue. This answer was given: When selecting the rudder axis, you must move both pedals together in the horizontal plane (Z axis).
Make sure not to tilt them individually (X & Y axes)
I can't figure out how to move them together in the horizontal axis. They tilt or you can slide one forward, forcing the other to slide back, but that is called "slider". I can't get "Z Axis". They actually work in slider mode, but only by sliding one foot back and the other forward, with stepping on either pedal having no effect. I feel like I'm missing something really simple here.

Assign the pedals to Rudder, not Rudder left or Rudder right

I think I may have figured this out after digging deeper into old posts. Those rudder pedals don't work with Condor by pressing them - you need to slide each pedal forward instead of pressing them. Not what I was hoping for but it works.

To slide is the way real planes are made. You can press both pedals (f.x. brake left and right wheel on a powered plane), but that makes no sense for rudder. If you move the right pedal forward, the left pedal goes backward

Thanks to those who responded (and all those who respond patiently to seemingly dumb questions). Sliding those pedals is just a little awkward compared to the glider I've flown but works ok and I'm getting used to it. It's a little challenging to keep the pedals from sliding on the floor but a soft rubber pad between the pedal assembly and floor helps a lot.

My pedals are on a carpet, that works nearly perfect. Thought first it would be more difficult

It is. But its better than twisting a stick . If you are willing to spend money on this, consider a VKB T-rudder or trustmaster TPR. If you'd rather spend time/effort on it, there are many projects on thingiverse. Like this one, which looks like a TPR clone for under 100 (one of the makes says $60) if you own a 3d printer or have access to one:

on my TPR I had the same issue until I found some remarkably good silicon pads. After a day, its like glued to my floor, despite being a very uneven and polished stone floor. Then my problem became that pressing the rudder would cause my (office) chair to move. I replaced the wheels with wheels with a lock, but thats cumbersome as the wheels can still rotate. Then I swapped the rudder stock springs with rubber bands, and that works great for me. Its much lighter than RL, but in RL you dont have wheels under your seat

Next time look for anti-torque pedals like you see in helicopters. They work similarly to most gliders. The only difference is the sitting angle if you sit in an office chair or laying down in a full size glider cockpit. So keep that in mind when making your choice.

Your pedals are for motor aircraft with wheel brakes.
