Condor on windows 11
I know it might be too early to ask, but will Condor 2 be able to run on windows 11 or will get some sort of update to run on that?
I'm asking this because when we did the upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 Condor 1 like corrupted or something, AA scenery was not working and gliders were messed up and from the outside they like had a form of a triangle.
We also tried to re-install Condor 1 but that didn't work. It would had stayed the same. I don't want this to happen also on Condor 2.

Re: Condor on windows 11
We expect it to run without any changes.
Personally I would recommend to not upgrade on the day of release. Wait a while and let others find the bugs ...

Hi
No issues so far with Windows 11. Seems to run very well. No difference noticed to Windows 10.

Did you try Condor 2 on windows 11? Also anyway I think we've gotta see what happens with Condor 2 when you installed it on Windows 10 and then upgraded to Windows 11 but with the official release.marchugelshofer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 10:32 amHi

Yes, had it installed on Win 10, upgraded to Win 11 (beta). Condor 2 works perfectly. No different than to what it did with Windows 10. Using XC Soar on Samsung device as well. Same here, no issues in communication between Condor 2 on Win 11 and XC Soar.

Re: Condor on windows 11
I am still on Windows 10 due to two main reasons:
- Not all software that is essential is running on Windows 11;
- Not a straightforward upgrade with different paths you may take and different options to receive.
I have some overview of my personal experience on my ‘test computer’:
- Need to get used to interface - OK;
- CPU performance looks better, in the sense of task manager control; Excel opens better with load; since it is Edge, but not Chrome, it is hard to compare apple-to-apple.
If one is careful about understanding stated changes with the transition and ok with them, it is worth upgrading. But also worth to follow new upgrades soon, I guess. Too many transitions might come.

Re: Condor on windows 11
I take the opportunity and this topic to report back
After a long absence, not flying (in real life as well), and only occasionally following the forum, I finally got a brandnew laptop, a XPS 17 9710 with a RTX 3050 GPU and Windows 11 (pre-installed). And what should I say. Condor runs smoothely with all settings set to max quality on my external 3440x1440 screen. Mostly around 60 fps.
I also found the reason for not being able to start the EB29R (there is a topic but searching this forum still is difficult). It was the 50km/h cross wind that I wasn't aware of having it set. BTW, it is NOT possible to NOT finish as task with the EB29R

EB29 Flight manual wrote:The max. cross wind component is 20 km/h [10.8 kts].
For the initial take of roll with cross wind and/or bumpy weather use the negative flap setting WK-2. This flap setting allowes excellent lateral control.
At an indicated air speed of about 50 km/h [27 kts] the flap setting should be increased to flap 0 or, on short runways or with water ballast to flap +1. For the remainder of the tow flap 0 should be selected for reasons of trim loads.
At a tow speed above 140 km/h the flaps can be set to flap -1.

Re: Condor on windows 11
So, It has been some time and I'm considering upgrading and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be fine with W11 also because I spoke to someone who uses W11 and he told me that it's very good and he didn't have any bugs, I even tried it in a VM and liked it. Tho I'm wondering, could Condor 2 have any issues in the upgrade?
I had Condor 1 on a PC with Windows 7 and in the upgrade to Windows 10 Condor 1 completely corrupted and I don't want the same thing to happen to Condor 2.
