Joy Stick & Rudder pedal

Post by rick&2149 » Fri May 14, 2021 5:28 pm

Please direct me to a good product & where to find these products ( joystick & rudder pedals. I'm 74 & I don't have any experience to gaming on the computer so I don't know what I'm looking at when I search the products online. The support @ Condor will not offer me any assistance. Thanks Rick

Hello Rick,

Personnally I use the joystick Thrustmaster T.Flight Stick X.
You can find it there :
http://www.thrustmaster.com/fr_FR/produ ... ht-stick-x

I find it simple and precise (and cheap) . The 12 buttons are easy to assign in the condor set up .
For a beginning you can use the Y axis of the stick for the rudder in place of pedals.
After, I have got pedals : I use the logitech rudder pedals.
Here the description :
https://www.logitechg.com/fr-fr/product ... edals.html

You can find these articles on the net depending where you live.

Hope you enjoy flight .
Regards
JL

If you have flown gliders in real life (IRL) I would recommend that you go for a force-feedback joystick.

Some information about joysticks is available on this forum, the search function works quite well.

I'm using the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, unfortunately it's not built and sold anymore, but, as they are quite rugged, it is possible to find second-hand ones from time to time on online sites like e-bay or similar.

Important note : it must be a "2" version with an USB plug (see below), not the "pro" version

Hello
After many years on XPlane I am trying to use Condor.
On a oldish surface 3 i5 computer running windows 10
I understand that the Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2 USB is the choice joystick.
Can someone please tell me if it will work with Condor 2 and Windows 10?
Do I need drivers?
Does the stick need to be attached to power socket to make the force feedback work?
Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2 USB is available on ebay but still quite expensive so would like to check these things before I buy.
Thank you for your help!

Sorry, final question as I have found one lacking the power cable.
Does the power cable connect to the stick with a classic bipolar socket, you know the one used on many devices that looks like a no 8

Please disregard last question. Saw a photo where it shows it is indeed a standard bipolar cable.
