diy motion platform

Post by harryharry » Fri Jul 03, 2020 10:41 pm

Hi,
I am a Simracer and like flying sims too and just tested a new plugin from our diy motion platform community which one of our members programmed in the last week's.
The name of the diy motion Plattform is sfx-100 and over 400 platforms are built in the last 2 years. It is made for racing but it works for flying too and some people drive additional motors for a gseat for example or additional motors to generate wind.
I add a link where you can see a video of my system which is a platform and a gseat on top where I fly a jet around Vegas but the principles are the same in Condor. https://youtu.be/et6QJuyODxw More videos are in the same Chanel. You can find information about the building process and more details under https://opensfx.com/
I am a total beginner with sail planes but I have fun to learn and do the first steps. So I hope to be able to fly online someday with you.
Sincerely Harry

I'm building an SFX100 as well, at least a variant of one. I'm making a variant that uses 80mm extrusions and has 150mm of travel and uses 10mm pitch ballscrews though the actual build is quite similar. Besides the usual sfx hangout spots I got the basics of the build from here https://www.racingfr.net/wbb/index.php? ... n-mavrick/ ...though have deviated quite a bit from that as well (Igus linear bearings, integrated mounting, lower rpm/higher efficiency motors...). Looking forward to seeing your build progress as well as getting to where I have pics organized to share of mine.

Are you going to use the Arduino controller and make a SimtFeedback profile for Condor or use Thanos' controller with Simtools since a profile already exists? I went with Thanos controller for that reason as well as the flexibility of adding a surge/yaw/sway at a later date.

I am using simfeedback with arduino and we have published 2 profiles for the simfeedback Condor plugin. One ist for the platform only and the other is supporting the platform plus a gseat plus windsim.
