OCULUS RIFT S

Post by gcmcg » Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:58 pm

I am having problems getting the Oculus Rift S to work. I selected Oculus in the Condor setup menu. Nothing happens in the goggles. I must need another piece of software or my connections are wrong. The gaming computer has the capacity to run Oculus. No error messages except the setup is not proper check the manual for instructions. The error message is "Error Initializing Direct3D Check Setup -Video Options". Any advice appreciated.

Make sure to download and install the app from Oculus

That message suggests you may have a problem with Directx. Windows 10 has what you need built in but if you're on an older version it would be worth downloading them from msoft.

Do you have any other VR tools like VorpX running? If that tries to hook into a game that has it's own VR support it gets upset.

Do other VR games work?

Also, when you say you selected Oculus do you mean when installing/Launching? The setup menu has a tick box "Enable VR". I'm sure mine was off even though I'd launched as an Oculus app.
