Off centre Sidewinder joystick

Post by John010 » Mon Dec 02, 2019 11:49 am

Hi,
Im looking to buy a Sidewinder FF2 Joystick. In some photos i see the stick is off centre when disconnected. Is this normal for a stick in good condition?

Thanks, John

Mostly Ebay. A few expensive ones on amazon.

Be careful to buy only version 2, with the USB connector.
If in Europe, try your local second-hand online shop : I got both mine from leboncoin.fr
One on Ebay in France :

A rather cheap one on the other side of the big pond :

Thank you very much for info.
Unfortunately problem is that i live at the end of the world. No one is sending items to Serbia, so i will stick to the mouse for some time till i find something here.
I wish i was born in Antarctica. Probably i would find that sidewinder easier there

Serbia is the same as posting to most other countries from the UK. Ask the people on Ebay, they probably will post.

Hello,

since the most recent update of windows 10 my Microsoft sidewinder FFB 2 USB does not work anymore:
The stick gets forced to the center for a few seconds but gets 'soft' soon after.

1) Did anybody else observe this behaviour?

2)Is there a software to test the FFB-functionality?

Thanks,

Wolfgang

O.K.
I rolled back my most recent update - and now it is working again.
I guess I will have to double check.

Thanks,

Wolfgang

It looks like I had a hardware problem with the photodiode detecting the user's hand.
I fixed it and now it works - also with the most recent update.
