A goodie for Throttle Quadrant users

Post by Bre901 » Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:34 pm

As Condor 2.05 now allows to use an axis for flaps, there is no need any more to program the Throttle Quadrant to simulate F/V keystrokes when the lever is moved.

The good point is that the lever position now corresponds exactly to the flaps position, which allowed me to make changeable strips to indicate the flaps settings :

You can dowload the PDF kit here : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1rdkjS ... TkBJ0TaeSB

Print on an A4 sheet, preferably light cardboard (~200 g/m2), take a pair of scissors and follow the instructions.

If you live in a metrically challenged country, I guess it's possible to print with a different paper sheet format, as long as you keep the original size (no scaling)

As usual, this is provided 'as-is', without any express or implied warranty.
In no event will the author be held liable for any damages arising from the use of this kit or of your pair of scissors.

Interesting, but :
- you'd have to make at least 3 of them (let's forget about the Blanik) as the number of flaps positions differ (Antares&JS1=6, Diana&ASG29=7,Ventus3=8) and Condor always uses the full range.
- the amount of work and technicity is not exactly the same

Yep, but I think tactile feedback is important and this might be a relatively easy way to have some, if you have a 3d printer and some springs.
Its not perfect, and you need different layouts for different planes, which is why I ended up using a "sequential shifter" for my simpit.

A tactile solution will also be quite a bit more handy (pun intended) in VR...

This kit is now hosted on the new webpage (together with the other utilities I wrote) : http://condorutill.pagesperso-orange.fr/
Please do not use the old Google Drive links any more as they won't be maintained in the long term.

I have noticed that I had over-estimated the lever travel by 5mm, which means that the last flaps positions are slightly offset.
Sorry for the inconvenience

I have re-drawn the kit, V2 is available on the website : http://condorutill.pagesperso-orange.fr ... ml#TQFlaps

Following the release of Hangar Update 17, the kit has not been updated, as I think it would have been a waste of paper to make a strip for the Arcus.

I recommend to use the EB29R one, as it is exactly the same, except for -3/S

Following the release of Hangar Update 18, I was not planning to update the kit as the JS1 strip is identical to the one for the JS3

However, I found out I could fit all stripes on a single page :) , so there is indeed a new version for HU18, but with no new strips.

No need to download the new version if you already have downloaded TQ_Flaps_V3_HU15.pdf.
