Chrome ram usage - other search engines?

Post by Paul_UK » Mon Feb 26, 2018 3:52 pm

I didn't realise just how much ram Chrome uses whilst open. Sat idle my PC uses about 1.3gb ram. Fire up Chrome and this shoots up to 2gb!

So for those who don't have quite so much ram available as others do once you have chosen which multiplayer server you are going to join and Condor 2 starts up close down your search engine. I'm unsure how much IE or Firefox use up resource wise.

Thought it'd be worth a mention seeing as V2 is a little more resource hungry and some may not be aware of this potential freeing up of resources.

Shows the ram usage drop on closing Chrome.

Firefox can be a memory hog too, especially if you have many tabs open. It also depends on the site you are looking at.
I have noticed that especially Youtube and Facebook do use a lot of memory
