Will this miniPC work well enough with Condor?
So, have just found this:
GMKtec G5 N97 miniPC, 12Gb RAM, 256Gb SSD, Win11pro (https://amzn.to/3ybUF2o),
As it's x86-based, running Windows (11pro), I think Condor will run ok.
But will it have it enough cpu and gpu grunt to run Condor well. From G5 review info, I think it probably does.
Apart from just getting one and trying it, any suggestions on benchmark results to look for to see if it'll work ok for running Condor3, baseline, with SG-28 glider add-on?

Definitely not good enough. The CPU is slow, but the real problem is it has no dedicated graphics, only an anemic igp.
edit: I actually tried. Since I have a similar alder lake based mini pc I use for projects (or hosting condor server). Its actually better than I expected; at a resolution I havent used in 15+ years (1280x800) and low(est) setting, it managed 30-40FPS on single player on a typical task. It only goes down from there if you encounter large clouds, rain, never mind flying online or sceneries like AA3.
So technically, I guess it works, but I certainly dont recommend it.

"never mind flying online"
Do you mean it'll be ok but just at less than 30-40 fps?
What's a usable if not visually great min fps level.for condor?

Why would you want that. That PC is far below minimum specs. Don't buy it if you intend to fly Condor. It is not usable. You'll be getting horrible stuttering and less than 10 FPS trying to fly online. And that is with very low resolution and almost no draw distance.

See here for my experience running Condor 3 on an N series with integrated graphics. It ran Condor 2 at almost full settings, 1080p with an average 30ish fps in almost all situations.
Condor 3 with some adjustments was equally surprising, but over-development slows everything down considerably. I could only fly tasks with no over-development, and it did fine offline. I'm now on a system with an RX6600 and it's of course a big improvement. I run it at 1440p, 60pfs with vsync on, and over-development can still slow things down sometimes (although manageable and playable now).
I was surprised by how efficient Condor 3 can be on low specs, yet how hungry it is for resources under certain circumstances. I'd stick to recommended specs if you can, or to Condor 2 if limited by hardware.

Its entirely possible that condor will crash on large sceneries, or when flying online or with big overdevelopment. Even if it doesnt, its not going to be a pleasant experience. If you already had such a computer, Id say maybe give it a try, but buying one like that for condor is throwing money out of the window. You are better off with a 10 year old second hand gaming PC.
Everyone will have different opinions on that. I know some people (or at least one person) will swear 30FPS is enough if you dont move your head. I get nauseous at those low frame rates, and I find 60+ FPS to be a requirement, especially if you use a headtracker or when panning around with the mouse to look around. What's a usable if not visually great min fps level.for condor?

Re: Will this miniPC work well enough with Condor?
Sorry for asking what may be basic questions, but i'm not a PC gamer, so don't know much about all this from a hardware perspectic...
My use-case for condor is effectively as a procedural trainer for team flying Hang gliders, ahead of an international contest in a location none of the team have EVER been to before.
I'd get the SG-28 glider add-on to be pseudo-representative of an HG, polar wise (I've flown my HG alongside a GOAT, which is,like an SG-28, IMO, and the GOAT has similar min sink rate and stall speed to an HG). Then we'd practice flying around the competition area, doing radio comms, etc.
So AAA-gaming-quality video is NOT important.
What's important is flying with multiple others online in the same area at the same time.
So, my question is, could that miniPC still work for my use-case?

Best I can give you is a "maybe?". Ive only briefly tested using the default slovenia scenery, if that is where you intend to fly, it might work with very low settings. Big caveat is that I havent (and cant really) test multiplayer, and that can have a significant impact.
Its also likely it will not work acceptably if at all with landscapes like Arc Alpin 3. Then again, you wouldnt have the disk space to even install it I think, so I hope you are preparing fly in Slovenia..
