After a failed launch RESTART does not work properly

After experiencing some trouble staying connected during the ground roll phase of an aerotow launch, we selected "Restart" from the menu, which moved our DuoDiscuss back to the launch point as expected. We did our pre-launch checks again and waited for the tow plane. After a while the tow plane landed and returned to its parking spot momentarily and then proceeded almost straight away to line up on the runway about 30m to our right!! Our wings were leveled as if we were the glider launching even without the tow plane being in front of us! The tow plane launched and just left us standing there like a scorned bride !! Rude !!
Choosing Exit instead of Restart and relaunching Condor reset everything, but why did the Restart function not work?
