Flight for only one pilot flying 2 up in DuoDiscus freezes mid-flight

Post by dwynberg » Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:31 pm

A few seconds after P1 (backseat) handed controls over to the P2 (front seat) flying a Duo Discus in AA3 in VR, P1 experienced a freeze, while P2 continued to fly forward, an external view was initiated by the P1, in which GPS co-ords are shown revealed that the coordinates were frozen. The plane was twitching a bit. When P1 took control back, P2 experienced a time warp back to the past and location where P1 had waited frozen, and after that both experienced normal flight again. This was done twice, each time with the same result. The flight was completed with the P1 keeping control.
I was hosting it on my own dedicated server running on the same PC that I was flying in as P1. Due to the in-cockpit chat not working for us via Condor in our VR sets we had a WhatsApp voice call going which kept comms open throughout the experience.
In the three times we have flown in twins together this only happened this last time, so as far as I can tell it is not a frequent issue.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for how I can fix or change anything to avoid this happening?
Thank you.

PS. the scenery in AA3 is just breathtaking. Really enjoyable flying in a twin and experiencing everything with a friend.
