KW limits are the answer, ask for it.
Then we need KW used in the ftr so CC can score appropriately.
Until then, eglide in condor is not possible.

with a little good will, not much is impossible. If it turns out using the entire lak battery is too much, or we get gliders with larger batteries, one possible work-around for the current lack of consumption monitoring, is just letting ppl make screenshots after finishing, to show they still have X bars or Y volt left in their battery. Its not entirely cheat proof, but Im not too worried about that yet, when all you can win is a number in a spreadsheet, and Im sure in due time this will be addressed properly through logging in the FTR / IGC. But we dont have to wait for that to experiment with the concept.

You don't really know what people are capable of, to have their name on top of a spreadsheet, even in Condor

We are all very much looking forward for the FES to work properly to set up E-Glide virtual events, but it is not a priority yet for us.
Nevertheless, I am sure that it is in the list of the dev :)

Great work so far Vertigo, on trying to get something working here for the time being!
I am in for the next race, if it fits my schedule. Keep going!

Antoine

Well done Vertigo for this experiment!

The scoring fun will come with different glider handicap and energy to manage.

Really? Thats you? Wouldnt you also want to be the first condor eglide competition scorer?

Handicap is easy enough, at least with GP scoring, although I have no idea if the traditional / DAeC handicap is well suited in the context of e-glide. I have looked but havent found the rules how the real e-glide handle KWH; I think there was like a penalty/bonus system for not using your entire allotment? Can you point me in the right direction? I might want to give it a try, with screenshotting, I know the perfect person to judge those

As for rest, Im just plain making sh*t up right now as 44 participants is too much for GP scoring, and I dont like the 1000 point CC system, so I made up something else. Details on the ranking page of the spreadsheet. Briefing for tomorrow is there too:

Me too, it just hanged there forever. Eventually had to kill Condor, but even that was not easy, as Condor for some reason was not showing up in Task Manager. So had to reboot the computer in the end to kill Condor! By then it was too late to try again.

So I missed this race :-(

Itried joining 5 mins after the server had started, got through all the usual steps and when loading the scenery in the status bar at the bottom I had the frozen "Requesting start slot" server wasnt full so I know that wasnt an issue.

Yup checked process manager exe wasnt showing at all, tried starting condor again which produced "AN instrance of condor is running" error. No way to kill the hidden process other than a system reboot.

Maybe something will show in the server logs,

Arneh I have raised this issue internally with the rest of the team, will see if I can get the logs and see what happened, can you check your logs and see if you find an error also please.

Sorry to hear that guys.

Best I can tell Tom was kicked for "modified landscape". Do you have AA3 patch 0.6 installed?
And arnhe I think you joined too late, end join time was 20:00, you would still have been in the notam page:

2025.01.11 19:58:45 +01:00","A.Guettler connected"
"2025.01.11 19:59:07 +01:00","F.Kermit entered the game"
"2025.01.11 19:59:08 +01:00","Server says "E-glide tasks are meant to be flown using your FES/turbo (even if Condor will not score you correctly)""
"2025.01.11 20:00:10 +01:00","Flight started"

Not during this race, but when I had been spectating after crashing in the first training day, I had a very similar Condor hang, which I couldn't kill. After some more trying, even my mouse became unresponsive. Reboot...

Hey thanks for the info. Condor Updater didnt show me the update when I checked it last (Yesterday I think) that would explain why it failed to join but the hidden process is still a mystery
