Multicrew-start flight and swap control

Post by MilesEifel » Fri Nov 15, 2024 10:56 am

Hello,
first of all, thank you very much for the new version of the Condor. It's really great.

Unfortunately we have a problem with the multicrew: we get to the point where we sit together in the plane (Duodiscus), but we can neither start the flight manually (Esc key) nor can we hand over control. The flight only starts after the end of the join time. We use the dedicated server and the ports are released in the router.

Does anyone have an idea what we're doing wrong?

Thanks in advance
Martin

Sounds like you didnt start the server task/clock. Type
.START
in the server console (if using dedicated server, otherwise I think in chat. Check the manual for more details).

BTW, to whomever maintains the manual; this is not made very clear. This command is hidden in an appendix and is pretty crucial and not obvious.

You should use DSHelper, then go to Server - Server-Management - Additional settings and activate Automatic start procedure. It starts then automatically

Thanks to both of you. You saved the evening. This new feature is one of the most exciting for us, so we were a bit frustrated.

And yes, the manual could be better. But I know from my own experience how difficult it is to create a good user manual.

So today two old guys will complete their first flight together :D

I like that feature too, but missing time to try it now. When you did your flight, can you please save the igc file of that flight and send it to me? I'm interested if both pilots are in the igc file. If yes I think about a special category in the VintageSeries24 for multicrew flights (of course I take an igc file of another multicrew flight too ;-) )

Thanks in advance

How can I send you the two files? That doesn't work here.

We looked at the IGC files. There is no indication except for one entry: The pilot's competition ID is displayed in the co-pilot's IGC. But that's all.

So if I understand right, both igc files of pilot and copilot are equal, because both have the competition ID of the pilot? Would be nice if there was an information about the copilot too. Found a description of a RL igc with the name of the copilot (HFCM2CREW2). In Condor it would be better with the competition ID of the copilot. Of course that is nonsense IRL because the plane has the competition ID, but Condor is different to see in my opinion.

It would open for real two seater competitions, and not only for trainer / student flights

Thanks a lot for the files. As I see, both are nearly identical with the same competition ID, but different pilot names. So it's enough information for me. It should be possible to recognize a valid two seater flight by uploading both files (each pilot uploads his own file). Comparing some track points will work.

Thanks again, I know what I have to do now
