Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
I am preparing for task server for C3.
I heard there are three ports should be forwarded through the router.
The one is defined in the C3 setting, and the others are two more upper ports for voice channels.
Are these TCP or UDP? or should I open both?

Re: Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
Have you heard what three ports need to be open for Condor 3?
For Condor 2 I have 2, these are:
56278
56400
Is it these two plus an extra one for C3?
I only have them set as UDP for Condor 2 as that was what we were told to use. I'm unsure whether the new push to talk feature will require TCP as well.

Re: Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
Where have you seen that? When I installed my first C3 server, I saw a short time a message (wherever, I don't know) about 2 ports to open for voice, in and out, but these ports where the same I use for other servers. So I haven't done anything, but I don't find information or a setting about thatn98Bk9-NT3 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 2:07 amI heard there are three ports should be forwarded through the router.
Sorry for not answering but adding a question

If you use 56278, you need to open 56279 and 56280 as well for the voice server. It is always the 2 ports directly above the main port.

Re: Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
Thanks all,
I have had some try-and-error and finally found a solution: activating UPnP-IGD. I don't know why, but manual port forwarding would not work with my router and ISP.
Anyway, when I need to open ports for C3 manually, I will open three ports with TCP/UDP for each server.
By the way, do voice channels of C3 use much more power of the CPU than flight data, or no need to worry about?

Re: Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
Is this not possible to configure? My 6 Condor servers use ports 56281 - 56286, that means the server with port 56284 should use 56285 and 56286 for voice, but they are used for other servers. I'm not sure if voice on that server disturbs the other servers. So I have to reconfigure all?

Yes, they have to be consecutive ports. And you will have trouble with either the radio or the other server if you try to use the same ports for multiple servers.6266 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 9:06 amIs this not possible to configure? Re: Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
To answer this question. I've opened both as that is what it shows in the manual. I have 56278, 56279 and 56280 all set up with portforwarding both UDP and TCP. And that works well.

Re: Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
From the manual
1. Is UDP included when I choose TCP?
2. If not, what is really needed for voice, UDP or TCP?
Thanks

Condor 2 manual said, UDP is required, Condor 3 shows a picture with "TCP or UDP". On my router I can't set "TCP or UDP", I have to choose one. I have 6 voice ports to open, and don't want to do that with 12 forwardings, each 1 for UDP and 1 for TCP. Two questions:There are many different routers used across the world, and we can only show one example here. For further help
please ask the community in the Condor forum
1. Is UDP included when I choose TCP?
2. If not, what is really needed for voice, UDP or TCP?
Thanks

Nope. Separate Protocol from TCP.

I suspect UDP.

Re: Port forwarding, TCP,UDP, or both?
Thanks, then I will open UDP, and when I first use it, it will work, or not ...
