The season is soon over, only one task missing. Due to Christmas task K will run as the years before on December and January.

I promised a better weather, hope I succeeded.

The OneDesign should start on Barron Hiltons Flying M ranch, but it's 1500 m high and Condor doesn't produce nice thermals there, impossible to reach them with an SGS1-26, so I moved the start to Elmira on landscape FingerLakes, Elmira is the home of the SGS1-26. We will have a"return" task type.

All other planes will have nearly the same task, "return" too and very similar weather. The example task starts at Bad Pyrmont on GermanyN, but as always you can fly wherever you want.

Task K is open now, it runs on Server VintageSeries24_Special and VintageSeries24_Special_C3, task J continues until tomorrow. When it's closed, the other servers will start task K too.

All are welcome to fly and try the Vintage Series 24

Task J is finished now. That task was first of all to find out, what to setup to get C2 and C3 flights equal. It works well so far, but of course there will still be advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless I keep the series open for both versions.

Thanks and congratulations to all flying task J, it was harder than expected.

Here the overall standings after 10 of 11 tasks

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Above all with good health.

Hope to see you all again next year.

Because of Christmas the last task of the season, task K, runs as every year two month from December until end of January. In February will start the new season.

Sorry for the short notice, but things had to be sorted before.

Tonight we will have the last multi player flight of the 2024 season. It is at an America friendly time, 25.01.2025 1 a.m. UTC, in America it's 24.01.2025, today (ca. 14 hours from now)!

We will use Condor 2 on the server VintageSeries24, landscape GermanyN, start from Bad Pyrmont. Task type is "return". Here the flight plan suggestion for planes in LS3 category. Bad Pyrmont - Ithwiesen - Deisterflieger - Oerlinghausen - Bad Pyrmont.

Of course you can fly where you want, like AAT without predefined turn points, 90 minutes time limit, 5 turn points calculated by your flight

All are welcome!

Task K is now over and so is the season 2024 (a season is always from February to January).

We have had flights of 5 different pilots and the first two seater flight in this task. Congratulations to 81C winning the Blanik category and to VL winning the OneDesign. The series is still open for Condor 2 and Condor 3, so it's very interesting to see where advantages and disadvantages are. In this task it seemed to be an advantage in Condor 3, a flat land task in a hilly region. You could trust the slopes on the sun side giving some more and better thermals than Condor 2.

Here the overall standings after the completed season, 8 participants over the whole year, that is very good. Thanks and congratulations to all and hope to see you again in the new season 2025, started already today. The announcement will follow soon in the next post.

New task, new season. Season 2025 is started now with task A. We continue without any changes in the rules. Only in OneDesign we will use another plane: this year it will be the Libelle, ballast (water and fixed) is allowed.

In OneDesign we have a task type "target direct", after release you fly direct to the target airport. Start is in Dargaville, landscape NewZealand or NewZealandN (both landscapes are valid), target is 144 km south east at Waiheke Reeve on a small island.

The category task has mountain conditions, where Condor 3 has 50 % more wind than Condor 2. That will be a disadvantage, because in the mountains we always fly a task type "2 turn points", so you will got more head wind than in Condor 2. We will see if this will be fair enough. The first mountain task for both Condor versions, task J in 2024, felt fair.

As always category flights are free, you can fly where you want, only the weather conditions and the task type is defined. Nevertheless we have an example flight plan running on the servers. Start in the example is Port Mcneill, landscape CascadiaCN or CascadiaCN3.

I recommand always to use the flight plan creator on the web page if you want to make your own flight plan. In Condor 2 it is easy without the creator, take the example flight plan, change landscape and start airport, done. But don't do it in Condor 3 that way, because cloud base is calculated agl in Condor 3, but asl in Condor 2. If the airport height is different on your flight plan compared to the example flight plan, you can get a not valid flight plan, when not using the flight plan creator.

But as always it sounds much more complicated than it is, only try and you will understand it easily.

See all informations on the web side https://www.baleit.no or ask.

Everyone is welcome to join us for another exciting season

The second task, task B is started now. To give the chance to fly task A that task will be closed not before Monday, so this weekend flying task A and B is possible. On the servers will run task A until it's finished.

OneDesign will start from Thames in NewZealand, landscape NewZealandN or NewZealandN3, task type is "2 turn points". I choose Thames because it should be easy to find home, the airport is at the coast, on one side a river and on the other side a hill range. Weather conditions are not too bad I hope, that speaks for a pleasant flight.

All other planes get a "return" task. Weather conditions are nearly similar to OneDesign, cloud base a little bit lower, also inversion height.

The example flight plan starts at Aalleberg (or Ålleberg) in Sweden, landscape ScandinaviaSW or ScandinaviaSW3. There is an interesting glider museum IRL, unfortunately haven't been there myself yet, but saw this nice video about it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL0n9r5CEH0

As always it's only an example flight plan and you can fly where you want.

For more information about the rules and the ideas please visit https://www.baleit.no, there you will get the landscapes too if you need them.
