Another Thursday's event... Something for fans of slower flying.
Our more or less realistic contest in 15m gliders again - but with reason... This time will be smthng special.


Competition inspired by the WGC 2021 for 15 m class in Montluçon-Guéret / France:

Tasksetter's comment:
Because the weather in the RL competition was very challenging, this contest will be harder than usual competitions.
There are many days with weak thermals and low cloud base.
Only in the 'good days' of this competition, you will exceed an average of 100 km/h.

You can just check scenery if all is correct, but you can fly the task as well (inspired by Day 3 of RL event).

Scenery description:
The French Gliding Federation would have liked to have a landscape covering the whole of France, for the organization of its future competitions. As for the moment it is not completely possible with the current version of Condor (the famous confusion zones...), we have realized with the merging of France_Bretagne, France_Champagne, Ile_de_France, Belgium, France_Sud_C2, France_Ouest_C2 and AA2, the big landscape FRANCE NORD. This is the result of the work of the Condor-France collective.

Day 1 will be this evening - fyi: in RL it was fourth task.

Scenery is FRN 0.5 - if someone still need, please get it ASAP (as it is not small). Although not all have premium account at c-c,

Above, It was not just typical advertising. ;D
1 EUR per month is not bad price for such big'n'fast data storage. Not mention rest of condor club services.

Day 1
In short - was not easy but flyable. Will see next tasks.
Congratulations to Jarek (1JK), Sean (S19) and Kelvin (ICU)! Welcome new pilots on the podium! Or all was there already?!
Notice - Frank (O9) made great flight, but did it later, so it will be not scored overall (but I left his result in SCI stats etc - for compare).

BTW - as expected - we were much faster than RL of this day (66.57 km/h!).

Hi PIT! Thanks for the MD5. I just checked the archive I downloaded via torrent:

UAR and I were unable to join the flight last Thursday due to Condor blue screen crash. Fun fact that the scenery works (offline) on some airports but still crashes on Montlucon and nearby (I also tried running task from *.ftr of the 1st race). I'm attaching logs in case Condor/scenery devs want to take a look.

Well - maybe planes? Tows staying on ground or Diana u use is broken? Or ground/plane/objects (but not from scenery but C2 build-in) or textures?

Really do not have clue... :/ Maybe try to write to support@condorsoaring.com too, or maybe someone else has an idea!?

Please at first check FRN with 'Scenery Check 2'. Then check md5s of main folders of C2 maybe... Smthng must be wrong somewhere.

BTW: it was RapidCRC Unicode https://ov2.eu/programs/rapidcrc-unicode - but it does not matter - files are OK...
Strange is that both of you have the same problem - have you exchange some C2 files, also not directly related to FRN scenery, I mean.

Hi PIT! Thanks for taking a look at the issue. I have run Scenery Check and it passed without any errors. Also, I tried reinstalling Condor completely - didn't help. I'm gonna report the issue to Condor and scenery developers. Have a nice competition!

Day 3 was hard and indeed weak! Unprecedented in C2.

Please, if possible - tell us a few words about your flights - how much ballast you used? What was your idea for such conditions?

BTW - We are closer to RL this time (90.44 km/h).

Some Infos to my Flight on Day4

Thermals are weak but with high variation. Normally you can think about dropping some ballast, but the thermal width was very high. So you can circle with a low bank. Together with flats activity=high I decided to fly with full ballast. I also tried to fly under clouds without circling to increase the gliding number. I turned TP1 in an altitude of about 700 m and was lucky to get a lift after TP1. Then I tried to keep high and set MC to about 1.2 m/s. Together with some luck I could complete the flight with a good average speed.
