Hello EDB
Thanks for your voice. :)
Your 'waiting-in-lobby proposition' sounds good, but even with 15 min + 20 min (as for regatta) you have also solution - there is possibility to save detailed briefing to bmp for further study (with alt/tab or on tablet as you do). But of course - if it is possible to implement 'divided join time' in C2 - it is worth - the idea is good. :) FYI: At Condor Comp series, we have classic 30 min join time and briefing is sent from c-c ('full one' in its terminology) 2h before race start. If someone likes to study or just reading slow - have enough time. So maybe sending detailed briefing 2h or 1h before start would be a good solution?

Randomize weather on each flight / time zones and regattas
IMHO it is good for 24/7 servers for fun/practice, not for serious contests, as in short - possibilities are not comparable.
Conditions are of course the same, but their specific coincidence not any more. It is important, especially for regattas! For normal race (with 60 min or more time window) or AATs we can say: 'OK, it is just a different phase, luck factor'. But let's imagine weak and rare thermals weather over semi-flatland task during GP. And let's say one server have good, 'thermal of the day', in a halfway at +- expected place at sunny slope, and another server probably will have it too - but maybe in end of life or not formed yet etc... IMHO Results from both flights aren't corresponding, so shouldn't be on the same score table.

Prefly 1st leg case
IMHO it is a theoretical problem and not the most important, finally we have also time zones. Spectato mode, YT streaming etc, so if someone wants to prepare better than others - have the tools. In RL you have also possibility to prefly part of route, it is always up to you to check smthng or not, to set up for race or not to study briefing or just join etc. Hard to force people to not prefly it if there is a time. Solution could be divided join time as you proposed above.

@wickid
But I agree with external views and real time scoring. It is a fair attempt at a competition like this. But in the future some things need to be thought about a bit better. Like:

1) jointime and possibility for everybody to get a good starting position

2) random weather when multiple servers/livestreams are used
3) start height and the possibility of using engines to get a better starting position

1) Sure, obvious.
2) It is IMHO mistake for regatta races, answered in post above.
3) Have no opinion - but some gliders have no engines... :arrow: point 1)
