Can’t join contest now that C2 is on my external drive
Can’t join contest now that C2 is on my external drive
Please help a new guy. I initially installed C2 on my C: drive, and then test the link for joining a contest from the multiplayer page. It worked fine. I then had to move C” to an external SSD because the landscapes require so much space. Based on some great advice I found in this forum, I moved C2 to the SSD and used a DOS command (mklink /J "C:\Condor" "D:\Condor") to get C2 to run. It worked great. Now I can no longer join a contest. Can someone give me some guidance? Thanks!

Run the Condor Setup executable again.
Re: Can’t join contest now that C” is on my external drive
Tried that, but did not work. I ran the setup, but it only allows 3 locations (C, USB, and DVD). I tried manually entering the location (as opposed to browse) and it could not see the drive even though the file manager could see it.

Moving Condor from one disk to another is not recommended, you should have uninstalled it and reinstalled it.
I would have kept Condor (and the Slovenia landscape) on C: and only moved the other landscapes to the external SSD.
I have made a small tool that allows to create all the links needed (CoJuGe)
Condor Updater can handle alternate locations for landscapes you download from Condor Club

Great. Can you share the tool please?

Sorry, I posted that from my mobile phone early this morning and I was intending to add the link later from the PC, which I forgot to do.

However, as the search works quite well, you could have found it by yourself

Bre901, No worries, and thanks!
Re: Can’t join contest now that C2 is on my external drive
The method I used when I moved my Condor install was:
Copy entire Condor 2 folder to new drive
Open registry editor (regedit.exe) and goto location shown in image
Edit InstallDir so that path is where you've copied folder to
I can't recall if I had to rename my pilot file or not on initial run but alas that is the worst you'd have to do.
If you are not comfortable using regedit then it's probably best to backup your landscapes and reinstall.

I have a similar issue, but Condor was reinstalled properly on another disk.
The problem seems to be in Chrome, with its file association for cndr:// URLs. I'm able to launch a game from Firefox, in large part because it never had that association in the first place. But I have no idea where Chrome stores the location of condor.exe.

No cndr2 URL handler in your registry - download & unzip this one: http://dl.virtualsoaring.eu/cndr2.zip - run by doubleclick the REG file.
PS: Path in that REG file is for default C2 install dir: C:\Condor2\ - edit REG file in any text file editor and put your C2 if needed.
