Flat_Land_Club

Post by 6266 » Fri Oct 23, 2020 2:05 pm

Hi all,

the Server "Flat_Land_Club" is online since 6.10. and is already used. From now on you will find the results of it on

http://www.baleit.no/flc.nsf

All flights with the status "Finished" and "Landed" with a minimum distance of 50 km are included in the results. There are three categories in the results:

Distance total
By task
By speed

The idea behind the Flat_Land_Club is to offer flatland-tasks for club-class with distances round about 100 km. From start to landing you will need ca. the time of a tv-film.

Today there are 26 different tasks available 24/7, maybe it will be some more in the future.

Hope to see you in the flat land ...

If you'd like some more flat land tasks feel free to use some of mine or use the them as a basis and alter the weather etc.

I've been creating 100km tasks based on UK clubs RL 100k triangles. Look up tasks by Paul_P78 on CC. I think I've about 11 or so 100km tasks created so far. All are either Club Class or Cirrus only tasks.

Hi Paul,

yesterday I flew one of your tasks integrated on Flat_Land_Club (Nympsfield - Cricklade - Winchcombe - Nympsfield) at the first time. It was a nice flight, interessant landscape with a lot of airports. I never have been in the UK, maybe one day after corona ...

Thanks for the tasks again

Have a nice day

I fly in South UK where it is pretty flat and my RL experience to date from my club is only thermal flying. There is a ridge close by called the South Downs but I am yet to explore that.

The 100km tasks I have created have a variety of weather, some more challenging than others.

https://www.condor-club.eu/showtask/0/?id=16357 This task has a very high inversion giving the illusion of a more closed in soaring day. It makes it a bit trickier to locate the thermals.

https://www.condor-club.eu/showtask/0/?id=16275 This task has weak thermals set but with a high variation thus deciding whether to stay or not in a thermal will mean the difference between winning / losing.

Glad you're enjoying them and hope you get to enjoy some soaring time in the UK for real at some point in time.

Thanks, but there will be no soaring for me in real life any more, maybe in next life ... ;-)
