Today I got kicked from the A server (had to re-connect at 20:28 because of XCSoar not connecting),
Then I connected to the D server (very poor FPS, frequent multi-second freezes).
30 minutes into the race Condor crashed because of "out of memory"
Hi Marc,

sorry to read this. When I prepared the tasks and tested them I have had no problems with my 4 years old middle class PC (i5-6402P, NVidia 750 Ti). For our next contest we go back to Europe (very probably). There are everything is smaller, the landscapes and the problems (I hope).

I have a lower middle class PC, older than yours IIRC : i5-2310, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 1050Ti, it's the first time ever I get "Out of memory"

It's not a problem of landscape size, but of being cluttered with 3D objects, I get regularly 120+ FPS on AA2 and CA (biggest landscape in C2) and I have no problems with Hi-res textures either.

What I really don't understand is why I had no problems in the first test flight.
FYI : we were only 2 pilots flying on server D when Condor crashed

In the test flights the cloudbase was high and lifts are good. Look at 'viewtopic.php?f=30&t=19917&p=170609&hil ... se#p170609' (Weather setting & FPS of JKK). On day1 we had a lower cloudbase near inversion and weak lifts with high activity. This should be a greater challenge to the hardware.
I reduce the FPS by 'Vertical sync' enabled in the Graphic set up (otherwise Iget a sink bug). Maybe that this will relieve your grapfik card.

Hello!

Today, at Day 3, we will fly AAT/S task: 1 h 45 min (105 min):
(FYI: RL WGC it was Day 6, 2017.01.16)

If you're not familiar with this kind of task please read some articles here: https://is.gd/XzvsNj

BTW:
You can join and try yourself AAT type of task today at t 7:00 PM UTC (20.00 CET) at BCC server, even you're not registered to contest (no password). ;)
If someone have articles about AATs in English or different languages - please share. I'll add them to the AAT post.
Thanks in advance!

I am sorry to read about problems with scenery and new C2 crashes. :| Let's hope all will be smooth now.

Good luck today!
Take care!

As usually: FTRs > CoFliCo > IGCs > SCI 2.63 click to enlarge
BCC_D4_stats.jpg
mCR: average climbrate in m/s for the task | mGN: mean gliding number (gliding number without influence of wind)
mIAS: mean indicated airspeed (the speed you see on your speedometer, the real speed is higher depending on the altitude) | nLift: number of lifts
DeltaGN: additional gliding number (difference between mGN and GN of speed polar) | Vmet: average of rising and sinking air
AltLift: average climbed in a lift | Detour: Detour in percent, only gliding passages are regarded.

See you next Thu on (one before last) D5.

Hello.
I flew several flights over the Northeast Victoria landscape with different settings.
I found out that the thermal map was not made quite correctly.
I have some knowledge on how to do this, as I have made several scenario myself.
It would be nice if the developers fix the thermal map.
Tnx

Hello Genchik

Thank you for post about thermal map. Maybe you are right. I don't know how to measure thermal maps accuracy. :/
You can send msg directly to NE Victoria landscape author - Jwharington:
https://www.condor-club.eu/members/composepm/0/?t=1998

Also you can write on forum at "Australia Sceneries in progress" thread:
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=19878

I am sure they would like to have proper thermal maps, as well as other scenery makers I suppose.
BTW: Maybe also, if possible, write post on forum with your recipe for it. Is possible to re-made thermal maps for existing landscapes?

Hi Pit
it's not very hard to do. you need a good vector editor and a little patience with neatness.
And you don't have to make the map again. Can be fixed in some places. Where thermals definitely live))))
