Hi everybody
the other day on tchitchin, New Zealand we observerd a bug.
It happend to F1 (J.Meyers) he climbed from abaout 1500m to about 8600 in only 5 minutes. Thats a lift of about 23m per second !
what happened there ??
See my stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVqPYiGc5k8
starts at 28: 42. F1 ist below HMB, you see him climb then. At about 33:35 F1 is already at 8600m

For some reason Youtube is having a terrible time playing that one particular video, but from what I could see it definitely wasn't the miracle button as that instantly teleports you to a higher altitude instead the rapid climb as seen in the video.
I've seen errors in the elevation data (typically deep pits) cause extreme wave lift (and sink) in a very small area. The video shows wave clouds, so perhaps he flew into such a location?

Unknown pilot on CC.
Is there any chance to contact him to get his FTR? Could be useful to track the bug, *if* it's a bug. It's really suspicious.

This day on the Condor World Cup there were also some massive waves.

Have a look at AEX or my (KOE) flight tracks as an example. We had average climb rates of over 10 m/s in very small area's of wave. Alex gained nearly 4000 meters in just a couple of minutes. I gained about 1200 meters in 2 minutes.

maybe was scottland?
lets just say the ground came up faster the when trying aerobatics in a primary...
it felt like 2 seconds from 3k ft but might have been 5..
