I still have the same problem :(
Can you please look in the task manager - how much cpu/ram uses dshelper when it run so slow? Is the whole system unresponsive or only dshelper? Runs it slow right after start or when a flight is running?
It sits using 15.8meg of ram. CPU at 0%. If i click too start a server CPU rises to 1%. After trying to run the server and killing the process in Task manager I cannot re-load DSH without restarting my PC. DSH process starts as I can see it in task manager however the GUI doesn't appear.

In comparison the previous version is sat idle using 24meg of ram

Hitzi, is there a log file somewhere that I can share to help try to identify my issue?

Only the pervious version of DSH works on my PC still.

Can you please update DotNet to version 4.8.1: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/down ... ork/net481 (Runtime)
Then download DSHelper again: https://www.hitziger-solutions.de/downl ... Helper.zip (compiled for 4.8.1 now)

Does this version run better? If not please show me the result of the program Get.NetVersion.exe (also in the current DSHelper zip archive).

All installed, still doesn't work. Doesn't look like .net 4.8.1 is installed, even though it said it did? It is now however a newer version than what I had before.

.Net Version
2.0.50727.4927 Service Pack 2
3.0.30729.4926 Service Pack 2
3.5.30729.4926 Service Pack 1
4.0.0.0
4.8.09037

My old version off DSH version 2.9.37.0 vom 27/11/2020 22:25:38 still works perfectly!

Can you please tell me the exact time when the error message is displayed. I have to verify if your error message is the same as in the server logs.

4.8.09037 is 4.8.1 :D I have the same DotNet installations on my pc. Hmm ... I'm still searching the problem. It's a pity that I can't reproduce this bug. It would be so much easier to find the problem.

Hi Paul,

one idea ... close DSHelper and the go into your appdata\roaming\Hitziger Solutions directory ("%appdata%\Hitziger Solutions" within the windows explorer address textbox and enter). Now you see the DSHelper directory. This directory contains all settings and the flights DB. Please rename this folder DSHelper to DSHelperBackup and start DSHelper. DSHelper starts now with the default settings. Does it run better now?

To switch back to your old settings close DSHelper, remove the new DSHelper directory in "%appdata%\Hitziger Solutions" and rename DSHelperBackup back to DSHelper.

Thanks for your help so far Hitzi. I will try what you say and report back (when I get home from work).

You rolled out the update due to newer SSL protocols. Could it be these newer SSL protocols aren't present on my PC yet which is why my old version of DSH is working perfectly OK?

I tried that, still exactly the same problem. When I click start server nothing happens. Then I click red cross to close but DSH remains running in the background so I have to use TaskManager to kill it.

I found a way which works with DotNet 4.7.2 (like the old version). Can you please test if this version works for you:

I'm afraid this one doesn't work either. I'm baffled.

I tried installing onto a different drive, this made no difference
Double checked set to 'run as administrator', which it is
I've created a new server, this didn't fix it

Old version is still working OK. Is there anything other than the newer .Net that needs to be installed on my PC for this new version to work? You mentioned SSL, nothing to do with that on my PC?

What is the problem exactly?
If it's a change in SSL protocols, you (user of DSHelper) may install latest version of OpenSSL DLL (https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html and copy DLL in DSHelper.exe directory.
If it's a change on web server (where some SSL protocols have been deprecated and disabled), there is some docs on internet to re-enable them.
