Multiplayer 2 seater server crash
Good day,
Like to inform you about a pretty strong crash during a 2 pilot 2 seater flight on a server.
1/ When the start flight button is pressed there is a big crash in condor when the landscape files are 'corrupted'. It happens when one pilot has not updated his/here scenery. The scenery check is skipped when flying in a 2 seater with 2 pilots.
2/ VR pilots who have issues with direct3d will cause crashes.
3/ The server you join cant handle these issues and crashes. I tried it with my own dedicated server and online during the CWC training day (by accident). Server A crashed when I joined in a two seater with my brother in the back seat. (Landscape issue).
I think there are no checks done on both pilots before entering a mulitplayer session. Not the same as joining as a single player at least. There should be a safeguard to protect running servers.
For further questions :
Wiek knows were to find me...
Brgds,

Re: Multiplayer 2 seater server crash
I also have another experience that a 2-seater flight crashed the server.
One of my friends could not ride with any other on the DuoDiscus. After several trials as P1 or P2 and other pilots, the server had started not to accept any pilots finally. I don’t know why, but he could fly solo at the same server, but not by duo.
I suppose that if one of the duo pilots had a very long load sequence, he would freeze at the co-pilot negotiation process. We saw some error messages there. Interestingly, sometimes, P1 started flight with the name of the co-pilot, but sometimes both crashed.
I hope the co-pilot negotiation process includes some fail-safe function not to crash server operation.

Re: Multiplayer 2 seater server crash
Not sure what the issue with this is, but normally when joining a server and your landscape doesnt match the version of the one on the host, you should get a landscape modified error message and you will be unable to join the server.
When you try to join as the second pilot the first pilot has to accept your request to join, did you go through the step? What probably happened is your join time expired before he could join.
Could you please try again and attach the crash logs so we can take a look?

No this was not the case. I was in one of the servers when this happened. They tried to join, in the jointime, in multicrew. For both of them Condor hung on the loading screen and they had to kill it with CTRL/ALT/DEL. For the rest of us we got 2 minutes of frozen pings and then a server disconnect.Tom wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 2:04 pmNot sure what the issue with this is, but normally when joining a server and your landscape doesnt match the version of the one on the host, you should get a landscape modified error message and you will be unable to join the server.

Re: Multiplayer 2 seater server crash
Now, I have a question.
Are there any means to allow them to fly together, such as restricting the usage of bug wipers or Hawk vario?
or, I hope there will be some message warning that the joining pilot's Condor version is different from the P1 pilot's.

- What would happen if a standard and an XC Condor version pilots tried multi-crew flight?
