Hi 22, the big problem I have is that the scenery covers both very flat areas and very mountainous areas. This means that I have to have a terregen setup which will cater for both areas. In real life there is actually a much great contrast between the flat parts of the valley and the ridges because most of the ridges are covered in forest, see here at this photo of Piesendorf (A few km down the road from Zell, and where I stayed when I went skiing )
If I were to use such dark colours on the hills as the photo shows then imho it would look a terrible mess bacause terragen only works on min/max slope and min/max altitude, and because the scenery covers a wide range of slopes and altitudes there will be areas of the scenery where the colour would be wrong (for example small hills in the flatlands to the north could be very dark too, or worse - big mountains which lay farther to the north and have a base much lower than the mountains in Austria may end up with a colour exactly the same as the flatlands around it..
If I knew how to use custom forest textures in the 'forestmap' then It would look 300% better because I have some very nice forest textures. But until I figure out how to do that I have to make a 'universal' colour for the hills.
Sorry im stuggling to explain the problem but I hope this answers your question.
