That's probably because the hightpoints in the scenery are at a 90 meter squares. So from the hightpoint coordinates (which are in the centre of this square) to the edge of the map is 45 meters. This happens on both sides hence your 90 meter difference

You're right : you have 90m less than you think :)

You should read this before : http://forum.condorsoaring.com/viewtopi ... c&start=15

And after : be careful. There is a small mistake in the post : the utm coordinate are not the coordinate of the bottom left corner of a terrain square, but the MIDDLE of it.

Then, the top right point of the scenery is : map_right_x + 45
the top left point : map_left_x - 45
the top south point : map_lower_y -45
the top north point : map_top_y +45

Then you have exact position and you find you're missing 90m.

Now i know why some airports (especialy the ones on the sides) had some small 'calibration' errors...
Good to know, next time will be better :)

Sorry to answer so late!

But I don't work about that subject until now, with "Huge Mother Scenery".

Your are not wrong!

It is always the same probem with Rows, Columns and Gaps

There is always: n-1 Gaps between Rows and Columns

In Condor scenery they (Uros an Gr) have added 1 column and 1 row, copy of a border row and column.

After experimentation, I can demonstrate that this row and column (ie the gap of 90 m) are placed at the North and West borders of the scenery (Up and left) and that rows and columns fit with the borders of the scenery and with the borders of terragen tiles and dds sub tiles (see the sketch of Huge Mother Scnery)

The altitude (with "height map" notched) in Landscape Editor is at the NW corner of the square indicating the same altitude, and not at the place of the intersection of 1 row and 1 column which is at the middle of the square.

Here are the evidence in this Fitz Roy Experiment:

5 turn points placed at the center and the corners of the square representing the summit of Fitz Roy (3332 m).
Observe that the sampling of Lon/Lat is much more worst than the sampling of LE map (0.1 m).

Make a task flying trough this 5 points and beginning by the center.

and fly
Tables.jpg
Shot953.jpg
You can see that the center pole is at the real summit of the Fitz Roy and that the 4 other points are half way of edges connecting the others square centers where rows and columns really cross.

My 2 pence

I got some problems with the calibration, too. if I enter my data from HDR file:

file_title = test
data_format = int16
map_projection = UTM Zone 32N
ellipsoid = WGS84
left_map_x = 511740
lower_map_y = 5784390
right_map_x = 742050
upper_map_y = 5968620
number_of_rows = 2048
number_of_columns = 2560
elev_m_unit = meters
elev_m_minimum = -18
elev_m_maximum = 409
elev_m_missing_flag = -9999

I get this result:

0,0,00.000.000.052,00.000.000.013
230400,0,00.000.000.052,9.17
230400,184320,53.87,00.000.000.009
0,184320,00.000.000.054,00.000.000.013

so something is wrong with the decimal seperator - but how to change it?

Could somebody help me out?

next thing: the "hint says, it hast be x/64 - but all tutorials explain you need to pick X/256?
so what is correct now? if i pick something with X/64 the tiles look wrong in the landscape editor?

greets, Nik

Hello,

I think the good result is (from an old version of the tool) :

0,0,52.1566845725814,12.5400757287667
230400,0,52.2098261237766,9.17181555677539
230400,184320,53.8667397448249,9.17853155480821
0,184320,53.8103175191135,12.6780798334772

If you don't succed with this, i will try to solde the problem on the last version of the tool, but actualy i have only few moment free to program.

Is this number ok for you?

Hy,

I update the tools to version 2.8 on "the Useful Tools" page of lurik.fr

It should work any time.

Can you test it and say if it's working for you?

Hello,

I write and test this tool on windows 7 Pro 64bits.
I think the error came from the version of excel. I use excel 2003.

I still not have excel 2010 to test. If i can have time this fall, i will share a new version for excel 2010.

To complete test, can you post your hdr files and informations to reproduce the error?

G'day Lurik,

I have used your calibration tool and as soon as I enter the data from the header file the 4 lines of the coordinates go blank. Help!

Hi

I have the ""Compile error in hidden module: Gestion_texte." also. I am using Excel 2010 on 64bit Windows 7.

Is there a version of the xls that works under this combination, or would it be possible to have the password for the VB so as I can debug the error myself.

Regards and thank you for the good work.
