Thought about Duo Flight

Post by n98Bk9-NT3 » Mon Feb 03, 2025 6:51 am

Yesterday, my friends and I tried duo flights to see how it would be good for glider training. We enjoyed it successfully, and one of the instructors told me that it’s not perfect for very basic training, but good enough for checking trainees’ flight skills and instruction for XC flight.

The following are some concerns regarding duo flight in Condor3.

Radio communication in Condor3 is not stable yet. Volume adjusting issues have already been raised. In addition, radio communication would stop during a flight sometimes. When it stopped, it would last to the end. I am not sure that it's Condor issue or others. :?

It is just a cosmetic issue, but the pilots’ wristwatches come only to the pilot in command. When swapping pilots, the wristwatch move to the other pilot’s wrist. Why are wristwatches not for both pilots? :D

Co-pilot can see the stick’s movement during the other pilot is controlling the glider. Is it possible to share force feedback data as well? Of course, it is difficult to move the copilot’s force feedback stick as seen in the cockpit, but just sending force feedback data to the others could make the copilot feel the force of a thermal lift on one wing or buffeting as a sign of stalling.

Anyway, this new dual flight is a great gift for us. I also tried a task in dual flight with my friend. It was a new and enjoyable experience in Condor. I really appreciate the Condor dev team.

Cheers,

Naoki

I guess it's because only the pilot actually controlling the flight has the controls, and you need to press a key for to see the watch, it's a control like all other controls

Because of that I added the clock on all panels (I modify all panels anyway), so I don't need the wristwatch

Yeah, that is not important. I can check time at the PDA. However, disappearing a wristwatch from my left wrist time to time is a little weird. 8)
