Hi all, as stated since I’ve never seen both live and bought them just one week ago.
At what circumstances are you using one over the other?
Thanks

You can compare the polars at different MC settings in the flightplanner. At the top it will show the theoretical XC speed. Try it at different wingloadings and see which plane is best.
If you really want to make a fair comparison you also have to factor in the difference in minimum sink when selecting MC settings. One might climb better than the other at a given wingloading.

Re: When to prefer JS1 over JS3
The JS1 is underrated in Condor, people tend to pick the JS3, even in 18m class, because it is the best glider for 15m and they are used to fly with it fully loaded. The JS1 is better than the JS3 in 18m in European wingloadings (ie. not full).

Yes, I fly with max 45 water. Currently I fly the JS1 15,18m just to get used to.
Thanks I will study the polars with that wing load. Since most if not all of the tchin tchin flights have strong wide thermal with 6-8m/s speeds around 180- 200km/h I think ?
