Fair enough that it might be mostly an airport problem. Though at least some of those airports I've noticed problematic are converted airports by condor-club's converter. It's a bit unfortunate if it creates airport with this problem...
And I still think the behaviour when it does encounter non-airport terrain is a bit strange. E.g. never seen a glider behave like this outlanding in high grass

(in Condor I've seen it do this on landings also, and would be nice if outlandings didn't do this, since it's a part of gliding).
But not as big problem for self launching as first thought.

The problem is that the airports in many sceneries were not made correctly in the first place. Not much that a converter can do than to get it correct. This particular airport had a grass surface runway in AA2. However, it seems that it was not converted to a Condor 3 airport by DGT. It only has GrassPaint markings in the AirportG file. Due to the sloping runways introduced in Condor 3, it was not possible to keep full backwards compatibility. So you may encounter problems like this one on converted V2 sceneries.

Could we get a wing runner in Condor?

That would probably help a lot. Could just be an option on the ESC menu, like ready for tow -> ready for self launch.
Oooh yes please!

Thanks for the explanation. Now at least I know the cause of the problem.

Postojna, wind 200/7 (7 kph tailwind), EB29R at max weight. There is no trouble selflaunching. Even with the wing on the ground it is easy to keep straight with the rudder. Wing lifts fine before the tip starts to grab. So I'm fairly certain all your problems are related to poorly made airports.

OK cool, she flies in Slovenia. I think there might be a link between the UK3 update and the fact it doesn't self launch in the UK any more. There were certainly a lot of improvements to textures and inland water but perhaps at the same time it has installed long grass at airfields. At least some of the inland water in UK3 is totally landable but you can't self launch off the loch either, it does the same slalom. Pleased it's not a skill issue

It probably is.
But would still help to have a wing runner for those times when we do fly from a poorly made airport

And if I remember correctly, there is a wing runner when self launching in multiplayer (assuming you do the self launch as part of the launch sequence), so maybe not much work to add it for offline too?

I use the DG800 for traveling, only use my self made landscapes and all airports there are "poorly made". I never had such a problem on launching, neither in C2 nor in C3, only once and that was due to rudder overcontrol. Repeating that start worked fine.
I don't have ASG32 or EB29, can't say anything about these planes.

This has happened due to the airfield not being levelled. Sometimes you have to zoom right in to find the hidden dips when creating scenery.
Clara post up on VSC in the United Kingdom channel which airport you have an issue at and I am sure Andy will take a look. Do it soon as I think he is going to be releasing an update shortly and it could be incorporated into that.

The ASG32 has been tested in the UK airfields and particularly Portmoak where the problem was, and it took off OK, even when fully loaded.
I found no problem with UK scenery airifelds that prevents the use of the ASG32 or any other self-launcher.

Gremlin in the hangar update, reinstalled the hangar update again and she takes off in UK now. Any others with the same issue maybe try doing your hangar update again.
