If it only starts after a certain time, I would check if your computer is not overheating at some point. This sounds more like your CPU or GPU are throttling to prevent them from becoming too hot. Check if your heatsinks are not full of dust.JFonseca wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 3:24 pmIn Condor 3, until this week, I had some pauses during multiplayer flights, which would have crashed Condor 2, but in Condor 3 just resumes after a few seconds. Thanks for the suggestion. I just opened up the PC and vacuumed it. It didn't have much dust, but I did it anyway since it was open.wickid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:12 pmIf it only starts after a certain time, I would check if your computer is not overheating at some point. Next time it happens I will immediately check the temps. It's hard to believe that it might be the issue, because in the Omen app I can define the fans speed, and for VR I always put everything at top speed.

Re: VR Headsets
(I find that phrasing a bit tricky to parse - is it intended to ask about the experience for those with Oculus/Quest headsets, or for those with non- Oculus/Meta headsets?)
While the headset I have is a Quest 3, I'll answer this anyway.
Generally, things work fine.
There are some strange issues - I get a strange blank screen sometimes when I interact with Condor in the setup stage, i.e., when Condor is running as a standard Windows app in a (virtualilzed) flat screen; and the mouse cursor on top of the map in the Condor Task screen is strangely distorted, but only on the virtualized desktop screen shown in VR - it looks perfectly normal on the display of my laptop.
I am putting those issues down to strange interaction somewhere in the intersection of Condor, Quest Link, and my particular laptop with its AMD graphics card - issues that are probably tricky to track down and ... not bothersome enough to worry too much about.
The one issue that I've had since Condor 2 which I find a bit frustrating is the experience in VR while the actual flight is starting, while the scenery is being loaded, etc. Sometimes, I get a Condor icon floating in a grey VR environment; but quite often, I get either a black VR view, or one that is flickering, almost static-like, which is not pleasant at all. This would be great to improve - perhaps even presenting a "loading" screen in VR as well, rather than just on the flat screen.
When actually in VR, the experience, both in my Oculus Quest and in my Meta Quest 3, has always been good.

Re: VR Headsets
I have a Valve Index and after having set up everything with ReviveInjector, it works perfectly fine. The only difference to Condor 2 is, that the application remains in loading screen on my monitor. In condor 2 my friends could watch me via stream. Now the monitor is "blocked" by loading screen.
Is that intentionally?
If you (or anyone reading) is using steamVR, I highly recommend buying fpsVR for a couple of bucks. It runs simultaneuosly and gives neat information about framerate/frametime, temperatures, etc. directly in the VR viewportwickid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:12 pmIf it only starts after a certain time, I would check if your computer is not overheating at some point. Re: VR Headsets
I forgot to mention something with my HP reverb G2 and Condor 2 and 3 : since some update, if something is not written on the screen, it starts to freeze. Now it became a routine to press Shift +D before take off.

Re: VR Headsets
I'm using a Quest3, but via Revive Injector so that I can stream from a cloud VM via Virtual Desktop, since Quest Link doesn't work outside of the local LAN (or at least is a pain to get working since it relies on mDNS).

Re: VR Headsets
Could you point me into the direction how to do that? I would love to use virtual Desktop.

Re: VR Headsets
It works, yes.
I'm running Pico 4 with Virtual Desktop and the Revive injection.
In a RTX3080 with i7 11700K with 48 Gb RAM.
i had to reduce some settings in order to get the maximum fps.
Although sometimes the fps decreased a lot, specially in some cloudy conoditions.
Waiting for OpenXR suppport...
If needed, I can help you testing.
Thank you.

Last time it froze the CPU was reading 36C and GPU 41C, so it doesn't seem like a temperature issue. Though, after vacuuming the PC it only frozen once!wickid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:12 pmIf it only starts after a certain time, I would check if your computer is not overheating at some point. Re: VR Headsets
I just remembered. There is an issue with non oculus/meta headsets requiring that part of the GUI is always shown on screen, or otherwise the picture will freeze. Can you try to have the FPS counter on (Shift-D) during your next flights, to see if that solves the issue?JFonseca wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 2:02 pmLast time it froze the CPU was reading 36C and GPU 41C, so it doesn't seem like a temperature issue. Re: VR Headsets
It's pretty much the same as for non-Oculus/Meta headsets. There's a section for it in the Condor3 manual. You start by installing Revive from https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive, and then run Condor using ReviveInjector_x64.exe (ignore the bit about copying the revive files into the Condor directory). Easiest is to right click on Revive in the toolbar, and chose "Create Injection Shortcut" (or something like that). That will create a shortcut on your desktop to start Condor. Oh, you also need SteamVR.

Re: VR Headsets
Are there any plans to add more flexible VR support, eg openxr or OpenVR API? Oculus API only is quite the kludge to make work for non-meta headsets, and rather “old school” for VR. OpenXR brings a load of flexibility but also options for performance enhancement (eg FFR or Quadviews).
