Re: EVERYBODY - READ THIS *** VSYNC *** (UPDATED)
No offense, I think its safe to assume the importance of input lag in condor is.. ~zero. We even have a settings menu with sliders that essentially do nothing other than add latency to our input. Not something you will find in counterstrike
I cant see any meaningful downside to enabling v-sync in condor. My only concern is that it may not fully solve the issue (although if its only 75Hz or odd number refresh rate monitors that are affected, its gonna affect me and ~0.67 other persons). I still have to test external views, that may be a very simple workaround (if allowed by the notam)

...and it is irritating as hell! We don't have input lag in reality; only inertia (I'm not talking FBW or hydraulics...totally different kind of input lag).We even have a settings menu with sliders that essentially do nothing other than add latency to our input.

Re: EVERYBODY - READ THIS *** VSYNC *** (UPDATED)
Hi everyone.
For this towing problem that occurs when you don't set the FPS limit to 60 on some airfields, mainly on AA3.
In fact, the problem does not arise when you choose to start with the winch. The cable breaking problem only occurs with a tug.
Maybe a bug hiding at this level.
It would be good to leave the number of FPS free and that it can have the necessary value and go as high as possible.
I fly with an RTX 3070 with everything pushed to the max and on the AA3 scene, it's really beautiful. Everything is fluid. Except when I have to reduce the FPS to 60.
Hoping that you can find and correct this problem.
Have a good flight.

Re: EVERYBODY - READ THIS *** VSYNC *** (UPDATED)
With ropebreak.fpl I see inconsistent results.
I have Vsync enabled via Nvidia Control panel as it doesn't work for me via Condor. I use vsync as otherwise I get awful tearing when panning my view. My results.
1st flight the tow rope instantly broke as the wings levelled
2nd and 3rd flight I took off OK
4th flight the tow rope broke instantly again
5th flight I took off OK
I changed nothing between each flight. Whatever is causing the issue doesn't cause it consistently for myself.

It should be fluid at 60hz, not too many humans are sensitive to such a high framerate.
My power grid flashes light from electrical lights at 50hz. Do you see your lights flickering or your TV getting fps lag?

What is your frame rate (/refresh rate)?Paul_UK wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 9:52 pmWith ropebreak.fpl I see inconsistent results.

FWIW, with vsync in either condor or nvidia, Ive never been able to reproduce the problem at 60Hz (/FPS); Ive had it 100% consistently at 75Hz/FPS (which is weird). And without vsync enabled pretty consistently above 178 FPS

My Dell U2414H runs at 60hz so locked at 60FPS

well, then it seems the problem and proposed solution is even less consistent than we thought.
If this only affects the tow rope, may I suggest an ugly but simple workaround for a future patch: make it unbreakable for the first 5 seconds or so after attaching.

Il ne s'agit pas de scintillement mais de saccades. Les mouvements de la scène sont saccadés.
It's not flickering, it's jerking. The movements of the scene are jerky.

Re: EVERYBODY - READ THIS *** VSYNC *** (UPDATED)
Perhaps when Vsync is enabled in the video driver settings, and again in the application, there becomes a conflict.
Options in the nVidia control panel are many:
Use the application setting
Off
On
Adaptive
Adaptive (Half Referesh Rate)
Fast
It may be worth experimenting whether your Condor controls Vsync or your video driver and how it's doing that.
One other issue I encountered with Condor2 that may or may not be related... I was testing a new "Freesync" monitor,
(not Gsync) and when I enabled adaptive sync, I had mini stutters and what looked like tiny artifacts in the pixels.
It just wasn't good at all, so I ditched all the adaptive and fancy features and settings and just enjoyed the beautiful
new monitor at 75hz fixed refresh rate. (IPS panel technology)
