Setting airspace for tasks

Post by jcomm » Wed Mar 22, 2023 8:56 am

What is the easiest way to merge data from an airspace file like those used for xCSoar into a task/fpl file?

Is there a parser/merger that can read a Condor fpl and an airspace file and merge both into a new flp with penalty zones corresponding to the altitudes, areas, perimeters? And if yes, does it deal with curved limits?

Thx

Maximum number of penalty zones is 8 and they can only have 4 corners

CoTaCo works the other way round, converting Condor penalty zones to airspace in an OpenAir file.
However I'm not planning to develop the reverse function

You will have to do it by hand, maybe use CoTaCo to check the results in a trial-and-error cycle

You may also want to use CoCoCo to convert (lat, lon) to Condor (X,Y)

Thank you for your replies.

I will try to do it by hand, and probably use CoCoCo (??? :-) ) for coordinate conversions, which will be very handy!
