Kicked by Server when Hosting since Win 11

Post by bobmorane » Thu Nov 11, 2021 9:17 pm

I upgraded my PC to Windows 11 and since then I am unable to host a multiplayer flight, I get a "Kicked by Server - Slot Request Timed Out Detected". There is no windows update pending (I saw in other threads that it helped at times to update windows).

I can join servers outside my LAN.

When hosting myself, the server that I'm trying to connect to is my localhost and I tried with firewall off, so I assume it's not a networking related issue.

Any idea of what might be the problem?

Has anyone using Windows 11 been able to host a multiplayer flight?

Are you hosting using Condor built in multiplayer or do you use DSHelper?

Have you checked Condor2 is added to the safe list on Win 11 firewall software?

I'm hosting with the built in multiplayer option. I tried disabling the firewall without any impact.

I use an utility called System Explorer that allows to filter the display of running processes based on names. When I launch multiplayer hosting in addition to condor.exe, CondorServer.exe appears and then disappears after some time. Then, after some more seconds Condor reports "Kicked by Server - Slot Request Timed Out Detected"

In the log below I see "Requesting start slot...." followed by "Disconnecting." instead of being followed by "Initializing timer." when I successfully join an external server.

Do you know if it is possible to get a deeper level of debug information?

And how to get a debug file for CondorServer.exe ?

I never used DSHelper, I'll take a look now at how to start a server separately.

Paul, thanks for your message. It made me look into trying with a dedicated server and that option does work! In the running processes I see Condor.exe and CondorDedicated.exe

It is a bit less convenient but it does work so it is an acceptable workaround.

Now I'm puzzled why CondorDedicated.exe works fine and CondorServer.exe crashes...

I suspect (but I am not certain) that it is linked to having migrated to Windows 11.

I'll send an email to support. I4m curious to know if other users of Win 11 face the same issue.

Well done for getting it working. I've always used dedicated server but through DSHelper. It enables me to have the server running without being in Condor itself which to me seems the better option anyway as if I am hosting and others join but I need to go take care of something I can quit my flight and leave the others to fly the rest of the task.
