Re: Condor 3 feature requests
Hopefully we'll be getting this essential feature in Condor 3 (especially the internal strings):

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
The side string got officially included into the German glider training methodology:
https://sites.google.com/view/seitenfaden/seitenfaden
https://www.daec.de/media/files/2022/Sp ... f#page=202
So it would be nice to have it also in Condor; for training purposes (safety!) and to optimize thermalling.

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
I darkened the suroundings to set the visual focus on the side string.
If you want to see the side string in action (undarkened), watch the explanatory video on https://sites.google.com/view/seitenfaden
and the official text in the DAeC glider training methodology: https://www.daec.de/media/files/2022/Sp ... f#page=202

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
Not sure asked before, I'd like to have an option to allow external PDA, e.g. XCSoar, regardless of glider type so pilots can enjoy more with likes of SG38, GrunauBaby etc.
cheers

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
I am new to Condor and I have to say that it is pretty amazing. My wife wonders where it is that I disappear to for hours at a time. Kudos to the development team.
Feature requests:
The ability to start a flight (airborne) at any location, not necessarily at an airport.
The ability to toggle the map screen of the flight computer between course up and north up.
Improved image quality for the flight computer screen.
Any thoughts as to when version 3 will be available?

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
Welcome John !
Regarding the release date, I was told by some source with direct access to the team - but please share this with no one else! - that it'll be released exactly one day after 1 day before release date!
I have Condor 2 installed, and all of my other sims were wiped because they were totally useless for the purpose of simulating soaring flight, well, other than Silent Wings which I really enjoyed in the mid first decade of 2000
Good suggestions for new features! I would like to be able to save a flight situation and restart it later, for single player tasks ofc... Sometimes I have to lose all of my efforts during a task because I have to interrupt it
My cat is a lot more efficient in finding me, and positively trying to interfere with my flying skills

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
As of Condor2, a single hit on the release key is rendered by two actuations of the release lever in the sim. This is not realistic and can lead to unsafe habits for newbies.
It would be great if one hit on the key = one release lever actuation. A "tow cable not released" failure could be implemented to make things funnier and demonstrate the safety requirement of the double release actuation.
Edit : That might event be better : the tow cable is released only if the release key is hit twice, unless the failure occurs which means you would have to hit the key a few times more to have the cable released.
The release would not be taken for granted anymore (as it should).

A Mac native version would be awesome! I could ditch parallels and actually make use of the native power of the Mx MacBook ...

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
It’s really not possible. Condor relies on directx which isn’t native on Mac.

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
Out of curiosity Chris, are any of the features requested in this thread implemented in the test versions of C3 at the moment?

Re: Condor 3 feature requests
We have not taken any of the suggestions from this thread.
But some of the suggestions were already either implemented, or on our list to be done.
And there are some things done which the community has not thought of.
